“WHY THE SUPREME COURT’S DECISON ON SODOMY FULFILLS LUKE 21:28”
Gays and Lesbians Worldwide Celebrate U.S. Supreme Court’s Decision
In the aftermath of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the Texas Sodomy Law (Actually God’s law), gays and lesbians celebrated the high court’s decision not only here in America, but globally.
Major newspapers carried such headlines as, “Gay Pride 2003 Gets Judicial Boost; U.S. Supreme Court Ruling Buoys Marches, Spirits and Global Celebrations.”
“Huge Gay Pride parades followed the ruling in cities in America and across the border in Canada.” Senator Charles Schumer, D-NY echoed the gay attitude by exuberantly exclaiming through a megaphone, ‘Let’s hear it for gay pride! Let’s even hear it for the Supreme Court – who ever thought we’d say that?!’”
“Events in the United States and Canada were among many around the world this past weekend celebrating tolerance, even in places that have traditionally been hostile to homosexuality.” In India, where homosexuality is a crime, homosexuals marched in Calcutta carrying a huge rainbow flag in a rare public demonstration to demand rights for gays and lesbians.”
“Revelers turned out in Venezuela and Brazil.” More than 200,000 revelers celebrated Rio de Janeiro’s eighth annual gay pride parade, which featured floats and loud music among Copacabana beach.
Luiz Eduardo Soares, Brazil’s National Public Safety Advisor, said from one of the floats, “Intolerance is the original form of violence – any form of love is worthwhile.”
In Germany, Berlin’s first openly gay mayor called on the government to strengthen anti-discrimination laws and recognize persecution because of a person’s sexuality as a ground for granting asylum.” Can you fathom that?
“Molly McKay, spokeswoman for the gay and lesbian group, Marriage Equality California, in San Francisco remarked, ‘We have a lot to celebrate at this year’s Pride. It’s a coming of age she said – This is a glorious and beautiful time to be queer.”
Opposition Expresses Outrage
However, the opposition expressed outrage and alarm over the misguided Supreme Court’s ruling. The Rev. Louis Sheldon of Traditional Values Coalition said, “This is a major wake-up call – a 9-11 wake-up call that the enemy is at our doorsteps.” This decision, said Sheldon, will open a floodgate and redirect the stream of what is morally right and what is morally wrong into a deviant kind of behavior. There is no way that homosexuality can be seen other than a social disorder.”
Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, one of the dissenters on the high court said, “The court’s reasoning leaves on pretty shaky grounds state laws limiting marriage to opposite-sex couples.” Thank God for Justice Scalia, a true voice of wisdom on the high court.
Both Old and New Testaments Show That God Judges Nations and People Who Become Obsessed With Degrading Passions
For the majority of Bible believing Christians, the issue of homosexuality is a grievous sin. The Bible is clear in both Old and New Testaments that the practice of homosexuality and sodomy are not only sins, but also an abomination to God that carries with it the promise of judgment.
The book of Genesis tells us that one of the reasons God destroyed mankind in the flood was because of perversion or unnatural sexual relations (Genesis 6:2-13). Noah’s son Ham, not soon removed from that wicked environment, committed a homosexual act upon his father (Genesis 9:21-25), which brought a generational curse upon the sons of Canaan. The Hebrew language of the text indicates that Noah knew intuitively that a vile act had been committed against him.
Sodom and Gomorrah, the twin cities of the lush Mesopotamian Valley, were destroyed because of militant homosexuality along with the cities of Zeboim and Admah (Genesis 18:20; 19:1-28).
God came close to destroying the tribe of Benjamin for the practice of homosexuality (Judges 20 and 21).
The Torah (The five books of the Law) strongly warns against homosexuality and its consequences in the book of Leviticus:

22 You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination. 23 Nor shall you mate with any animal, to defile yourself with it. Nor shall any woman stand before an animal to mate with it. It is perversion. 24'Do not defile yourselves with any of these things; for by all these the nations are defiled, which I am casting out before you. 25 For the land is defiled; therefore I visit the punishment of its iniquity upon it, and the land vomits out its inhabitants. 26 You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations, either any of your own nation or any stranger who dwells among you 27(for all these abominations the men of the land have done, who were before you, and thus the land is defiled), 28 lest the land vomit you out also when you defile it, as it vomited out the nations that were before you. 29 For whoever commits any of these abominations, the persons who commit them shall be cut off from among their people. 30'Therefore you shall keep My ordinance, so that you do not commit any of these abominable customs which were committed before you, and that you do not defile yourselves by them: I am the LORD your God.'"
Lev 20:13-16 NKJV:
13 If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them. 14 If a man marries a woman and her mother, it is wickedness. They shall be burned with fire, both he and they, that there may be no wickedness among you. 15 If a man mates with an animal, he shall surely be put to death, and you shall kill the animal. 16 If a woman approaches any animal and mates with it, you shall kill the woman and the animal. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood is upon them.
The Apostle Paul in his letter to the Roman Church, warned those who practiced homosexuality that God would give them up to their degrading passions. For God to give someone up means that they are incapable of repenting. Hebrews 10:31 says, “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God:”

20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man — and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. 24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. 26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.
The Root Cause of Homosexuality – Believing the Lie That It Is Not a Sin!
While those in the homosexual movement teach God loves homosexuals the way there are and does not require repentance, it is a blatant denial of the Word of God. The above Scriptures make it abundantly clear that God hates the sin of homosexuality. Homosexuals, and all who support them reject the truth of God’s Word for the reason Paul gave in Romans 1:28 – “They do not like to retain God in their knowledge.”
The gay and lesbian community in America and the world has chosen to deny the truth of God’s Holy Word by twisting and ignoring the stern warning from God that anyone who practices homosexuality as a lifestyle and dies in that sinful condition shall be punished in the Lake of Fire forever and forever:
Rev 21:8 NKJV
8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.
Homosexuals and their advocates should pay close attention to this verse for God says the abominable (homosexuality is an abomination unto God) shall be cast into the Lake of Fire.
It is interesting that the Greek word for “sexually immoral or whoremonger” in the KJV is the word “pornos” from which we derive our English word “pornography.” Those who promote and sell pornography as well as those who are slaves to it shall also be cast into the Lake of Fire except they repent and turn from their sin.
Bill Gothard Shows the Path a Nation Takes Toward Moral Decadence and the Judgment of God
In 1976, as a young minister, I attended a Bill Gothard seminar in Dallas and I will never forget his teaching on homosexuality and perversion (I still have the notes).
His teaching was under the title of “The Development of Concupiscence” (An old King James word we do not use anymore, which means “an evil unbridled craving or a strong unrestrained lust”).
He used the graphic of a thermometer to illustrate the moral temperature of society. The lowest and healthiest temperature was the ideal characterized by a spiritually moral society guided by the Laws of God. The next level up showing a rising unhealthy temperature was the development of concupiscence where the soulical natural man with his sensual cravings had begun to dominate and suppress the spiritual. The next level up representing the highest and most dangerous threat to a vibrant society was blatant perversion or homosexuality. Gothard said “That when a society reaches the point of condoning perversion, God will destroy that society” (Israel and Rome are examples from the past).
He also listed 13 steps in ascending order leading to a perverted society (the highest number representing an immoral society) as follows:
13. Argumentation – reprobate mind given to perversion – judgment certain 12. Justify immorality – cannot think clearly 11. Re-examine Scripture – doubt 10. Frustration over drives – confusion 9. Religious compensation – rationalize 8. Incomplete repentance – feeling sorry is not enough; root sin of self on the throne 7. Response to guilt – suppress the truth 6. Awakening of guilt – conviction 5. Violation of conscience – law in the heart 4. Questioning Scripture – dangerous; Eve’s root sin 3. Sensual focus – eye toward lust 2. Awakening of conscience – reasoning with the mind – dangerous 1. Natural curiosity – nothing wrong with this – God gave to Adam and Eve
Based on Gothard’s teaching, America has been aggressively moving toward a full-blown perverted society since the 1960’s and WE HAVE FINALLY ARRIVED!
The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to strike down God’s sodomy law has brought America to the top of the moral thermometer – the rejection of God’s Word and the tolerance of gross immorality.
This decision of the U.S. Supreme Court is the pinnacle of degradation and debauchery and will bring the certain judgment of God upon this nation. America has moved into the “destruction mode” and we will go the way of ancient Rome, which collapsed from within and eventually be engulfed by enemy nations, perhaps even totally destroyed [Illegal immigration is one of the ways this nation will collapse]. One of the other will happen, for there is not one shrewd of evidence that this nation will repent.
The U.S. Supreme Court’s Decision Fulfills Luke 17:28-30
When I read the decision by the Supreme Court to overturn our sodomy laws, I immediately thought of the prophetic passage in Luke 17:28-30:
28 Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; 29 but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed. NKJV
What I find interesting about the Greek text is the meaning of the word “planted” in verse 28. The Greek word is “phuteuo,” which means to “set out in the earth,” and/or figuratively, “to instill a doctrine”.
From the Greek text it is clear that Jesus compared His return to the Days of Lot, that is, the generation that He returns to will be like the Days of Lot, which had instilled a certain doctrine in the earth. That doctrine was homosexuality (sodomy), which the wicked society of Sodom condoned. In verse 29, Jesus verified the Genesis account of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah for the sin of homosexuality (sodomy).
Heterosexual Sodomy is also a Sin – Sodomy is Sin Period!
In all fairness, I must say that even though sodomy is predominantly practiced by homosexuals, it is equally wrong for heterosexuals. According to reports published by the America Medical Association, heterosexuals who practice sodomy increase their chances of contacting AIDS because the root cause of AIDS is the blood coming in contact with bodily fluids containing human waste (feces). Anal sex is not normal whether practiced by heterosexuals or homosexuals. It is perversion, plain and simple.
The apostle Paul wrote in I Timothy 4: 1 “that in the last days (the end generation that would experience the tribulation and the Second Coming of Christ) there would be a departure from the faith (The Word of God) and people would pay attention to seducing spirits and DOCTRINES of DEMONS.
What we have just witnessed the United States Supreme Court do is obey seducing spirits and doctrines of demons in ruling that sodomy is not a sin and what people do in the privacy of their bedrooms is nobody’s business. I have some alarming news for them! IT IS GOD’S BUSINESS AND THE BIBLE SAYS “THAT WHAT IS DONE IN SECRET WILL BE REVEALED IN THE JUDGMENT. THERE IS NOTHING HIDDEN THAT SHALL NOT BE REVEALED.” [Mark 4:22].
The Glory Days of America Are Over – Judgment is Coming to America!
Make no mistake about it, the U.S. Supreme Court has instilled “the doctrine of homosexuality” in America and the world. The cliche is true - “As America goes, so goes the world.”
This is a sad day in America, and will only lead to grave consequences, even the direct judgment of God. It may not happen today or tomorrow, but know one thing, it will come because a nation cannot openly defy God’s moral law and not go unpunished.
America’s glory days are over, and I expect to see unprecedented troubles and difficulties in the days ahead for the late great United States of America.
May all true believers everywhere cry unto the Lord for the wicked sins of this nation, but I have to tell you, I do not believe God will withhold His judgment not matter how fervent our prayers. I believe America has stepped across the line – the point of no return and JUDGMENT IS COMING! [See Jeremiah 7:16; 11:14; 14:11].
God give us all a true quest for holiness and a hatred for sin.

28 Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; 29 but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed. NKJV
What I find interesting about the Greek text is the meaning of the word “planted” in verse 28. The Greek word is “phuteuo,” which means to “set out in the earth,” and/or figuratively, “to instill a doctrine”.
From the Greek text it is clear that Jesus compared His return to the Days of Lot, that is, the generation that He returns to will be like the Days of Lot, which had instilled a certain doctrine in the earth. That doctrine was homosexuality (sodomy), which the wicked society of Sodom condoned. In verse 29, Jesus verified the Genesis account of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah for the sin of homosexuality (sodomy).
Heterosexual Sodomy is also a Sin – Sodomy is Sin Period!
In all fairness, I must say that even though sodomy is predominantly practiced by homosexuals, it is equally wrong for heterosexuals. According to reports published by the America Medical Association, heterosexuals who practice sodomy increase their chances of contacting AIDS because the root cause of AIDS is the blood coming in contact with bodily fluids containing human waste (feces). Anal sex is not normal whether practiced by heterosexuals or homosexuals. It is perversion, plain and simple.
The apostle Paul wrote in I Timothy 4: 1 “that in the last days (the end generation that would experience the tribulation and the Second Coming of Christ) there would be a departure from the faith (The Word of God) and people would pay attention to seducing spirits and DOCTRINES of DEMONS.
What we have just witnessed the United States Supreme Court do is obey seducing spirits and doctrines of demons in ruling that sodomy is not a sin and what people do in the privacy of their bedrooms is nobody’s business. I have some alarming news for them! IT IS GOD’S BUSINESS AND THE BIBLE SAYS “THAT WHAT IS DONE IN SECRET WILL BE REVEALED IN THE JUDGMENT. THERE IS NOTHING HIDDEN THAT SHALL NOT BE REVEALED.” [Mark 4:22].
The Glory Days of America Are Over – Judgment is Coming to America!
Make no mistake about it, the U.S. Supreme Court has instilled “the doctrine of homosexuality” in America and the world. The cliche is true - “As America goes, so goes the world.”
This is a sad day in America, and will only lead to grave consequences, even the direct judgment of God. It may not happen today or tomorrow, but know one thing, it will come because a nation cannot openly defy God’s moral law and not go unpunished.
America’s glory days are over, and I expect to see unprecedented troubles and difficulties in the days ahead for the late great United States of America.
May all true believers everywhere cry unto the Lord for the wicked sins of this nation, but I have to tell you, I do not believe God will withhold His judgment not matter how fervent our prayers. I believe America has stepped across the line – the point of no return and JUDGMENT IS COMING! [See Jeremiah 7:16; 11:14; 14:11].
God give us all a true quest for holiness and a hatred for sin.
