POLITICIANS ARE LIKE SNAKE OIL SALESMEN

POLITICIANS ARE LIKE SNAKE OIL SALESMEN

For the past seven months in Southern Arizona, politics and events on the border are normal, with no major change from events reported in 2003. Most human trafficking and narcotics smugglers control the vast network of "walking trails" leading from the Border at Sasabe, Nogales. People have been "shot" and murdered but these events are of little importance nationwide. The Arizona Star carries the local trivia.

Aggravated with both political parties in general on many issues , nothing ever changes in prospective regardless of the controlling authority. I have served many Presidents in my lifetime, and met numerous politicians, some good with a desire to fulfill their oath of office and duty to their nation, but a vast majority have sought public office for personal agendas and monetary gains at taxpayer expense.

Despite the fact that I have enforced the laws and Constitution of the United States for decades, I have been remiss in actually reading all articles including the Declaration of Independence presented in 1776, the U. S. Constitution in 1787, and the Bill of Rights in l791. This nation can be very proud of our early elected officials who actually represented the people of the United States.

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. Beautiful words then and now, as well as the Pledge of Alligence to the United States, One Nation, under God.

Polticians come and go in the history of this nation. We've had great men worthy of respect, to carpet-baggers, scoundrels and thieves that prey on taxpayer's trust. When it comes to politicians regardless of the very sad two party system where campaign funds determine votes, the Constitution of the United States should be a factor for every citizen that is a voter in the United States. In God I have Trusted, not "snake oil " salesmen in war and peace for more years than I care to remember.
