Prophetic America Can Choose to be Blessed Or Cursed

Prophetic America Can Choose to be Blessed Or Cursed

WASH—Oct 23—KIN-- The Western third and the Southeastern United States is under severe to extreme drought conditions, according to the National Drought Mitigation Center. Southern California is experiencing raging fires which have caused the evacuation of nearly 500,000 people. New Orleans is experiencing flooding. Atlanta’s water supply is running out. National gasoline prices are averaging over $2.80. China and Japan have been dumping the dollar on foreign markets, devaluing the dollar against other currencies. Oil prices are hovering at record levels.

Recently, California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed into law bills designed to teach homosexuality as normal in California’s public schools. A school board in Maine voted to give birth control pills to sixth graders without parental notification. The U.S. Congress is considering legislation to require employers to hire homosexuals by not allowing businesses to discriminate based on “sexual orientation.” The Bush Administration’s relationships with China, Russia, Iran and Turkey have been strained in recent weeks, calling some attention to those nations that are prophetically involved in end time prophecies.

In addition, President Bush has bent over backwards to promote other god’s at the expense of his own Christianity. In meeting with the Dalai Lama, Bush called him “His Holiness” and a great spiritual leader. Congress followed suit by awarding the Buddhist the Congressional Gold Medal —the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a civilian. The US Mint created a coin in his honor.

Earlier, the President, in responding to Ramadan said that he believes, “…in an Almighty God, and I believe that all the world, whether they be Muslim, Christian, or any other religion, prays to the same God. That's what I believe.” Meantime, his Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is pressuring Israel to divide the city of Jerusalem in a “land for peace” deal.

Most people would never connect all these current events. But from a spiritual sense, they may well be connected. First, the United States through its leadership is on a fast track in turning against God. Psalm 33:12 says, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” If the leadership of this nation reflects the nation, it is apparent that America is turning away from the Lord. In Zechariah 12:9, the Lord says, “And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.” These are days of great prophetic significance. The prophecies contain both blessings and judgments and while people cannot stop the march of prophecy, they may determine their place in it. It is time to stand firm in the Lord.

Thank you for your straightforward comments regarding how far we've fallen as a nation. I might add at one point, "Bush praised the Dalai Lama as a "universal symbol of peace and tolerance, a shepherd of the faithful and a keeper of the flame for his people."

I was grieved that a man who confesses that Jesus Christ is his Lord, could even utter that the Dalai Lama was "a shepherd of the faithful". There is only ONE GOOD SHEPHERD, and that is THE LORD JESUS CHRIST! Greater condemnation will come upon our leaders who knowingly confuse the public with a syncretistic Christianity.

The President's statements confirm George Barna's research that President Bush agrees with 46% of Americans who agree with the statement that 'Christians, Jews, Moslems, and Buddhists all pray to the same God.'

I think that it says more about our lack of discernment born out of a shallow study of competing truth claims that are surfacing in our pluralistic society AND a lack of diligent study of the Word of God. Without understanding that our belief systems are very different, I'm afraid that many that call themselves Christians will see a shipwreck of their faith, or their children's faith. It's a complex religious marketplace that we face daily wading through the media's pluralistic barrage.
If it were not for GOD's WORD, HIS PROMISES, the unceasing intercession of our HIGH and HOLY PRIEST LORD Jesus Christ and the HOLY SPIRIT's upholding us as believers, we too could fall to this deception. Praise the LORD for HIS SUSTAINING GRACE.
