BUT HE CAN'T WIN!

I am not a Republican. I am not a Democrat. As Founding Father Benjamin Rush proclaimed “I am a Christo-crat.” Whenever dealing with political choices I always ask myself HWJV, “How Would Jesus Vote?”
It makes my decision so much simpler. Instead of getting caught in the political-box others want to put me in, i.e., Republican/Democrat, Conservative/Liberal, tolerant/hateful, I have freed myself of allegiance to political parties and have cast my lot behind Jesus and His principles. Jesus wouldn’t vote for Rudy or Romney and He’s not afraid of Hillary.
If pressed, I would have to admit that I am a registered Republican, but I didn’t vote for GW and wouldn’t give them a nickel of my money.
The Democratic Party is controlled by communists, and the Republican Party is “communism-lite” and the differences between the leadership of the two parties are negligible. Don’t send me any emails telling me what a great “man of Faith” our president is. One of the most under-reported stories of the past week is the fact that the president AGAIN said that Christians and Muslims serve the same God. Read it for yourself! How has the Church so joined itself with a man who denies the One-Way-sovereignty of Jesus? Click here to Read what Chuck Baldwin wrote.
Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. The president doesn’t agree with Jesus. But that’s okay because…he’s born-again.
I guess we’re all just one big happy family.
But that is not the main bone I wish to chew on today.
I watched Dr. Dobson on Hannity and Colmes Monday night. What an honorable and decent man he is. I was encouraged by his adherence to principle. No matter how much O’Hannity tried to scare him with O’Hillary, Dr. Dobson didn’t waver. God bless James Dobson.
In a column that I published a year ago I called out for Dr. Dobson and our Christian leadership to begin a Christian Party. I was excoriated for doing so because that effort, I was told, would only “elect Hillary.” “She’ll huff and she’ll puff and she’ll blow our house in!” But all of the sudden our “conservative leadership” is discussing third-party issues.
I thought the purpose of an election was to promote one’s beliefs. Sadly, today it is about who can get elected, not who holds our values.
As a guy who believes the Republican Party has gotten exactly what it deserves, let me offer them some much needed advice. Nominate someone who believes in long-standing Republican-values. It is your only chance to win.
What does Republicanism believe? Read this. It is from Wikipedia, the enemy’s encyclopedia. Even the enemy knows what Republicanism believes? Why don’t Republicans know it?
America was founded as a Constitutional Republic. "A constitutional republic is a state where the head of state and other officials are elected as representatives of the people, and must govern according to existing constitutional law that limits the government’s power over citizens."
I have no horse in the Republican race. But it is obvious someone is trying to force the "right" candidate down our throats. Heck, in the Dobson interview, O’Hannity might as well have been Giuliani’s campaign manager. And still, no one mentions Ron Paul. “He can’t win.” I hear them say. “He’s too far out there.” Really?
The Republican Establishment won’t give Ron Paul the time of day. I wonder why? He holds all of the values of Republicanism. But the Party has become so enamored with war that it has lost its values. Would Christians consider voting for Rudy if 9-11 had never occurred? You can stop laughing now.
Why won’t the Establishment cut Dr. Paul some slack on his anti-war stance? They look the other way on Romney’s Mormonism and flip flops on social issues. They look the other way on Rudy’s pro-homosexual, pro-abortion, anti-gun views. They are slobbering all over Fred Thompson, praying he will be “another Reagan.” (What if the Reagan he is like is young Ron?) “There is no perfect candidate,” they say. If that is true, why is being against the war a poison pill for Paul? Why won’t they look the other way on his “non-Republican” view on the war on terror? Something stinks. There is a fly in the ointment.
Here is what I have noticed. The Republican Establishment, including Hannity and Rush, has done everything they can do to discredit Dr. Paul. Why? Aren’t they for limited government, lower taxes, outlawing abortion, against homosexual marriage, against gun-control, and for personal freedom?
Why do they hate Ron Paul so much? He holds Republican views and he has voted those views. His record is clear. But he is against the way we went to war and that is the Poison Pill. He doesn’t support the war. As far as I can gather, that disqualifies him from being an Establishment Republican! Are the Republicans now ONLY the war party?
Yet he believes what Republicans have always believed and he is certainly more Republican than the current inhabitant of the White House.
Frankly, I don’t care what the Republicans do. I don’t trust them. But I am smart enough to see this. Ron Paul is the most “Republican” candidate that has been on the national scene in 25 years. America needs drastic change and the Establishment of both parties is committed to fighting any real change. For the past 20 years ALL of our presidents have been either Bushes or Clintons. Has anything changed? Aren’t we in need radical change? They are greasing the skids for another Clinton. Something is seriously wrong.
So here is the way I see it. Dr. Paul, an anti-Establishment candidate could win. Americans of all stripes hate what has happened to this country. The pollsters don’t pick up on those who have dropped out of the political process. Many don’t even vote. What if the “conservative values voters” threw their support to a man who believes government is too big, that individual liberty needs to be protected, and that it is time America stood up for Americans? You don’t think that would stop Hillary?
I disagree with Dr. Paul on the war. But I agree with him on about everything else.
The pundits are always encouraging us to “vote the lesser of two evils.” Okay. I’ll play the game. Who is the lesser of two evils Mr. Republican, Rudy or Dr. Paul?
The Republicans and the Democrats are really just two fingers in the same glove. That the Charade of Change is the way they keep everyone on the ranch. Isn’t Rudy really just an anti-terrorism Democrat? Except for the war on terror, just what values does Rudy hold in common with Republicanism?
Here’s the catch. Republicans have become just as enamored with big government as the Democrats have always been. It is all about power and control. The last thing the King-makers want is someone who will tear down their government-kingdom. “Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.”
If Christians are to stay on the ranch then they must take over the ranch. I visited Dr. Paul’s website. Here is what I found:
He supports American Sovereignty.
He wants to close the borders and offers no amnesty for illegals.
He is for lower taxes.
He is against socialized health care.
He will fight for homeschooling and parental control of education.
He will protect individual gun rights.
He is pro-life…an OB-GYN who has delivered 4000 babies.
He wants to cut the size and power of government.
But he can’t win because he’s against the war.
I hear a lot of talk about the Republican "Big-Tent.” If they ever nominated someone with Dr. Paul’s views they’d need a bigger tent!
Are you sick of what has happened to America? Will Establishment candidates bring about change?
David had no chance against Goliath. No one ever thought he could win. Luckily he ignored the polls.
Why won’t Republicans support a real Republican?
Do you think like a Christian or a humanist? Did the Founders really separate Church and State? Is Judicial tyranny ruining America? Check out these great teachings by the Coach.
