Of Senators, Virtue and Treason

Of Senators, Virtue and Treason

WASH—Jan 31—KIN-- Wisconsin Democratic Senator Russ Feingold says he and other Democrats will be introducing legislation requiring the President to get the troops out of Iraq in six months or their funding will be cut off. Feingold held a Tuesday hearing on Capitol Hill stacked with his “Constitutional Experts” who say that Congress, indeed, can cut off the funding for the war in Iraq. Of course, Congress has the authority, but any Congressman who has read the words of those perpetrating the war on terror against the United States, would realize that the war in Iraq is now today the frontline in the war on terror.
Feingold could not have written a better script for the Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s or the Osama bin Ladin’s of the world. If this legislation passed, the Islamofascists who want to bring this war to the doorstep of every American citizen would know they have a six month timetable to activate their sleeper cells here in the United States. The front of the war would shift and radical Islam would have gained a massive victory. Moreover, the message the mere mention of this kind of legislation sends to the terrorists is that America no longer has the will to fight them.
Feingold cites that the reasons for the war are no longer valid—Saddam Hussein is no longer a threat and there were no weapons of mass destruction. But Feingold and company fail to recognize that Iranian operatives are carrying out combat missions against U.S. troops and Iran is conducting covert operations and funding the resistance against the U.S. in Iraq. Feingold ignores the obvious results of a pull out of American troops—Iraq will fall to Iran, and the Islamofascists will prosecute the war in America—a war ultimately supported by Iran, Russia, North Korea and China. Yes, this is just one opinion, but it is not without credibility considering the pattern of terrorist operations in other countries.
James Madison, in debating the Constitution, said, “To suppose any form of government will secure liberty or happiness without any virtue in the people, is a chimerical (wildly fanciful) idea. If there be sufficient virtue and intelligence in the community, it will be exercised in the selection of these men [of virtue and wisdom].” The American people have selected men of little virtue—those who support abortion, homosexuality, and taking God from the public square--to represent them in Congress. The end result is giving aid and comfort to a lethal enemy, or treason against the nation. It is a Biblical principle. 2 Peter 1:5 says that to escape the corruption of the world, “…giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue.”
