An Iraqi officer of significant rank approached my translator as I quietly took notes near the banks of the Euphrates River, at a combat observation post named COP Dunlop. He knew I was an embedded American. He had a sense, perhaps, that I was a sympathetic soul, and he wanted to pass along an urgent message.

Franklin Raff

We shook hands and exchanged pleasantries. I learned he was an educated and successful man, an accomplished soldier, and quite knowledgeable about the affairs of the world. He had served under Saddam. He openly spoke about the likelihood of corruption in the new Iraqi Ministry of Defense. We spoke about black-market arms trading, ancient smuggling routes, and the problem of porous borders.

We even discussed personal matters, and the question of his taking a second wife. (I told him the one about a thousand pair of panty-hose hanging from King Solomon's shower-curtain.) We had a reasonably long and genuine conversation about matters of importance to all men. And at a certain moment, he grew a little uneasy and blurted out what he had wanted to say from the beginning:

Why do you people not tell our story? Why do you not say what is going on? Why do you come to our country and see what is happening, you see the schools and the hospitals and you see the markets and you eat with Sunni and Shia soldiers – everybody eats together, everybody works together –you see that Saddam is gone forever and we are free to speak and complain.

You see we are working and eating together and fighting together – Sunni and Shia – you see what we are building here, you see the votes we make as one people. Then you say to the world about a great war and horrible things and how we are all killing each other? We are not animals! We are Iraqis. Look around you! Look!

Non-English speaking Iraqis are distressed and disheartened by American media bias. Many feel personally offended by what they read in translation and hear of in the foreign press. I am not talking about press information and public affairs officers. I am not talking about coalition soldiers (though every one I spoke with on the subject was equally frustrated.) I am talking about Arabic-speaking Iraqis. They see a difference between what we're seeing and what we're saying. What does that tell you about the extent of our problem?

I was truly "downrange" in Iraq, embedded in Baghdad, Sadr City, Fallujah, and a series of remote combat outposts and forward operations bases in the Sunni Triangle. I spent much of my time in areas that were in immediate transition or wholly controlled by Iraqi forces. I wanted to get dirty, and I wanted to see the worst of it.

I was entirely too close to a vehicle-borne IED – intended, possibly, to destroy my party – which tragically killed a U.S. Marine and a young Iraqi boy. I trampled through a mass of depleted uranium, breathed the squalor of a Saddam-era slum, slept uneasily through the bursts of an urban gunfight, and dined on the partially-cooked head of a sheep. But these are not my most disturbing recollections.

Civil unrest is distasteful and at times gruesome, but in much of the Middle East it is an abiding condition. The scenes that flicker in my mind seem graver than the filth, disorder, and sorrow that have been a part of Iraq's dramatic transition. And now that I have returned to Washington, as memories play alongside my daily media intake, they combine to create an increasingly gloomy montage.

It was hilarious at the time. So funny, in fact, I nearly wept. I will never forget the sight of my colleague, a well-known, market-leading radio reporter feverishly clutching his satellite phone as a Chinook transport helicopter flew by, half a mile or so away. He was standing right beside me as he dialed through the time zones to go "live from Iraq":

We're right in the middle of the action! I'm sorry ... I can't hear you! There's a Blackhawk landing right behind me! I can't quite describe what's going on! This is unbelievable!

At the time, you see, we were just outside an Embassy chow hall, quietly discussing the weather. We had just eaten a magnificent lunch. In this combat reporter's trembling right hand was the target of his desperate screams, the satellite phone – his listeners' link to the horror and chaos of war, the sweat and tears, the booming, blood-shod tragedy of it all. And in his left hand – I swear it – a chocolate milkshake.

There is plenty of bombast in the green zone. "On the scene" excitement breeds hyperbole, and many reporters are pretentious and boastful to begin with. There's no need to name names: Most folks can smell manure wrapped in newsprint, no matter who does the wrapping. But I quietly curse when I think of all the self-styled Ernie Pyles in their Baghdad hotel rooms, staring out over the city skyline, giving you news "from the front."

Let me tell you what has become somewhat of a running joke among coalition soldiers. It is evening, and a boom is heard in the distance. Some foreign fighter has blown himself up, and maybe he's taken one of ours with him. Maybe it's an IED. Or it might be an attack on one of our new electrical transformers, engineered to dishearten and confuse Iraqi citizens by depriving them of a nights' electricity. Nobody knows yet, but that doesn't really matter.

Our journalist, "on the line" in his cushy suite, scrambles to the balcony. He sees a puff of dust on the horizon, shivers in the cool night air and the intensity of the moment, and turns down CNN on the television. He e-mails his editor about these explosive developments and then, with a cool beer in hand, begins writing about a great and desperate war. Brothers in the crosshairs. A rag-tag insurrection, gaining momentum in dramatic increments. A few historical references. A scribbled, out-of-context comment overheard in the mess hall. A line or two from some radical imam, if a desirable translation can be found. Bingo: It's a front-page story.

Embedded news-gatherers – even those with military experience, as was the case with me and my immediate company – are essentially expensive luggage. We take up valuable space. We are unarmed, untrained, generally unfit, and we tend to get in the way. We are valuable targets for the border-hopping, media-crazed murderers who seek instability and chaos. But this isn't what irritates our defenders. What bothers them is that when we put pen to paper, we tend to stab them squarely in the back by misrepresenting and over-dramatizing our experiences. It is no wonder a "PRESS" tag will get you a few hairy eyeballs in the field: There's a general consensus that we are liars.

The lies aren't relegated to firsthand reports. I listen to NPR every morning. I read the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, and scan any number of online media. As a lifelong and moderately accomplished student of war history and of the works (and memoranda) of men like Sergei Eisenstein and Josef Goebbels, I have been keenly aware of an increasing use of elemental propaganda techniques and tactics in "mainstream" reporting on the war.

Good news from Iraq, for instance, is systematically, if delicately, prefaced with the indication of a biased source. I am almost certain there is a standing order at outfits like NPR's "Morning Edition" to compromise positive stories with selections from an arsenal of useful poll numbers. For good measure, the stories are often relegated to commentary segments of the program, in order to lend a casual and dismissive air to core information.

Let's use, for example, the fact that Sunni, Shia and Kurdish leaders are organizing innumerable micro-summits to resolve their tribal differences in the name of national unity. Participation is nearly 100 percent, negotiations are largely fruitful, and leaders from local imams on up want to reiterate to the press, just like our Iraqi officer did, that despite isolated attacks and foreign insurgent activity, there is no "civil war" going on. So the Pentagon releases selections from this tapestry of reassuring stories in the standard manner along with requisite sound-bytes, interview opportunities, and raw statistics. The news is verifiable, rich in human interest, and undeniably positive. Here's how it plays on "Morning Edition":

The president has admitted he was wrong about WMD, and now, according to the White House, Shia and Sunni leaders are evidently trying to work together to try and quell the burgeoning civil war. Approval ratings for the Bush administration and the war are at an all-time low, so the question is: What's behind these last-ditch efforts, and can they possibly succeed? Joining me to discuss this is NPR senior news analyst Cokie Roberts ...

In the minds of those who do not recognize the telltale signs of subversive delivery, the desired effect is achieved.

This effect – to convince the world that Iraq is a hopeless and violent wasteland, heartbreaking evidence, even, of a trigger-happy cowboy's hubris – is compounded and reaffirmed day after day, as biased and exaggerated reports reverberate through and within thousands of local and syndicated media outlets. As George Orwell explained in his dystopian novel "1984," "If all records told the same tale – then the lie passed into history and became truth."

I wanted to confess to my new friend, the Iraqi officer at COP Dunlop, that we have an autocracy in America that has never been deposed – an imperious corps of convenience-isolationists with short memories and powerful imaginations. I wanted to explain that though there are hardly any soldiers among them, they rule the thoughts and actions of legions of citizens.

I wanted to tell him about our media elite, about how "if it bleeds, it leads," about our 24-hour news cycle, and about the "Journal of Record" and its endless struggle to embarrass and discredit our president. I wanted to tell him that the same folks who tell us they're giving the world "all the news that's fit to print" are the same ones who deep-sixed Babi Yar and ignored the Holocaust, the same ones who bury stories about Saddam's mass graves and "spike" Iraqi efforts to show us the awe-inspiring progress they have made.

I wanted to acknowledge that too many Americans lack the fortitude and patience to stand behind our new Iraqi allies as they forge a new nation. I wanted to explain that certain powerful Americans feel we didn't find quite enough chemical, nuclear and biological weapons to make our multinational effort worthwhile – no matter what we have, in fact, found; no matter what the Iraqis witnessed, no matter our soldiers' experiences and testimony, no matter Iraq's success thus far.

I wanted to tell him that not all media people are liars. But I knew that my thoughts were too complicated to make it through translation. I knew that when I returned to America, the words "civil war" would be plastered all over the mainstream media, just as they were when I left. So I held my tongue.

I returned to what I expected. All the hotshot analysts and commentators are speculating, with that requisite gravitas, about the "roots" of civil war.

I was there. I was in some miserable places, but I saw a miracle every day. I saw a lot of smiles, a lot of hope, and a lot of pride in that traumatized country. I saw a remarkably fraternal affection between Iraqi and coalition soldiers. I saw bustling markets, busy streets, and peaceful demonstrations. I believe I may have witnessed a pivotal time in the infancy of a vibrant, freedom-loving ally in the Middle East.

I did not see a civil war. I did not see the beginnings of a civil war. But I did learn a thing or two about the "roots" of this civil war: Iraq's civil war has been engineered, in no small part, from the comfort of a Baghdad hotel room. It is catalyzed by minor exaggerations, partial facts, and propagandistic suppressions. It will escalate, over time and across media, as minor mistruths beget outright lies, until the truth itself begins to change.

As our new Iraqi allies become discouraged by what they see in the world news, and as they start losing hope, they may abandon their dreams once and for all. Our media's dark prophecies will then have fulfilled themselves. Then, and tragically, Iraqi and coalition pleas for "truth" may finally be silenced.

Iran Leader: Israel Will Be Annihilated

Iran Leader: Israel Will Be Annihilated

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - The president of Iran again lashed out at Israel on Friday and said it was "heading toward annihilation," just days after Tehran raised fears about its nuclear activities by saying it successfully enriched uranium for the first time.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called Israel a "permanent threat" to the Middle East that will "soon" be liberated. He also appeared to again question whether the Holocaust really happened.

"Like it or not, the Zionist regime is heading toward annihilation," Ahmadinejad said at the opening of a conference in support of the Palestinians. "The Zionist regime is a rotten, dried tree that will be eliminated by one storm."

Ahmadinejad provoked a world outcry in October when he said Israel should be "wiped off the map."

On Friday, he repeated his previous line on the Holocaust, saying: "If such a disaster is true, why should the people of this region pay the price? Why does the Palestinian nation have to be suppressed and have its land occupied?"

The land of Palestine, he said, referring to the British mandated territory that includes all of Israel, Gaza and the West Bank, "will be freed soon."

He did not say how this would be achieved, but insisted to the audience of at least 900 people: "Believe that Palestine will be freed soon."

"The existence of this (Israeli) regime is a permanent threat" to the Middle East, he added. "Its existence has harmed the dignity of Islamic nations."

The three-day conference on Palestine is being attended by officials of Hamas, the ruling party in the Palestinian territories.

Iran has previously said it will give money to the Palestinian Authority to make up for the withdrawal of donations by Western nations who object to Hamas' refusal to recognize Israel and renounce violence. But no figure has been published.

On Tuesday, Ahmadinejad announced that Iran had successfully enriched uranium using a battery of 164 centrifuges, a significant step toward the large-scale production of enriched uranium required for either fueling nuclear reactors or making nuclear weapons.

The United States, France and Israel accuse Iran of using a civilian nuclear program to secretly build a weapon. Iran denies this, saying its program is confined to generating electricity.

The U.N. Security Council has given Iran until April 28 to cease enrichment. But Iran has rejected the demand.

The chief of Israeli military intelligence, Maj. Gen. Amos Yadlin, was quoted Wednesday as saying Iran could develop a nuclear bomb "within three years, by the end of the decade."

In his last year of office, President Clinton approved of an unusual scheme to transfer classified data that likely helped Iran advance its nuclear weapons program, according to New York Times reporter James Risen in his new book "State of War."

Risen says the CIA used a double-agent Russian scientist to hand over a blueprint for a nuclear bomb to Iran.

The White House plan actually was to derail the Iranian program by passing on fatal flaws, says Risen, but the deliberate errors were so rudimentary they would have been easily fixed by Russian nuclear scientists, reported the online Post Chronicle, which said the story was recounted last night by radio host and former Justice official Mark Levin.

Risen's book has been in the news for its revelations about the Bush administration's controversial NSA domestic anti-terror surveillance operation.

The Clinton operation, in early 2000, was code named Operation Merlin and "may have been one of the most reckless operations in the modern history of the CIA," Risen writes.

A defector from Russia was to offer Tehran the blueprint for a "firing set," the sophisticated mechanism that triggers a nuclear explosion.

CIA officers told the Russian the Iranians already had that technology and the scheme was to find out the full extent of Tehran's nuclear capability.

But the Russian inserted a note in the package indicating he could help fix the flaws if he were paid the right price.

Iran's announcement Monday that it successfully has enriched uranium was the third major development this year on the way to producing an atomic bomb, leaving only one more step.

That next development – metalizing the enriched uranium to fit it into a warhead – could come as soon as four months from now, says author Jerry Corsi, who has watched the predictions in his book "Atomic Iran" unfold since it was published one year ago.

In a nationally televised speech Monday, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that with the production of enriched uranium, "I formally declare that Iran has joined the club of nuclear countries."

The audience, which included top military commanders and clerics, broke into cheers of "Allahu akbar!" or "Allah is greatest!"

In January, Iran successfully tested a missile with solid fuel, and last week, a U.S. official reported Iran now has ballistic missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads.

Tehran has rejected a demand by the U.N. Security Council to stop all uranium enrichment activity by April 28.

Putin Vindicated?

Putin Vindicated?
In 2004 the Russian president said that Saddam had planned terrorist attacks on America. New Iraqi documents suggest he may have been right.

by Dan Darling
04/07/2006 12:00:00 AM

IN JULY 2004, DURING THE COURSE of a little-publicized event while on a visit to Kazakhstan, Russian President Vladimir Putin made some unusual remarks:

I can confirm that after the events of September 11, 2001, and up to the military operation in Iraq, Russian special services and Russian intelligence several times received . . . information that official organs of Saddam's regime were preparing terrorist acts on the territory of the United States and beyond its borders, at U.S. military and civilian locations.

Putin's remarks were little noticed by the American press, coming as they did so soon after the release of the 9/11 Commission's report. Moreover, despite his strong opposition to the war in Iraq, Putin was unabashedly in favor of Bush's reelection, having earlier criticized Senator Kerry for supporting unilateral action against Serbia while opposing it with regard to Iraq. Putin went so far as to claim in October 2004 that "The goal of international terrorism is to prevent the election of President Bush to a second term."

And one of the newly-released Iraqi documents, BIAP 2003-000654, indicates that Putin may have been on to something. On page 6 of the document it is revealed that:

The top secret letter 2205 of the Military Branch of Al Qadisya on 4/3/2001 announced by the top secret letter 246 from the Command of the military sector of Zi Kar on 8/3/2001 announced to us by the top secret letter 154 from the Command of Ali Military Division on 10/3/2001 we ask to provide that Division with the names of those who desire to volunteer for Suicide Mission to liberate Palestine and to strike American Interests and according what is shown below to please review and inform us.

Written by the commander of Iraq's Ali Bin Abi Taleb Air Base, this document, if authentic, indicates that Iraq was actively recruiting suicide bombers with the intention of targeting U.S. interests at least as far back as early 2001. Nor is this the only document released with the intention of making it clear that Saddam's intentions for carrying out terrorist attacks against other nations--the plans for Blessed July appear to lay out a similar agenda focusing on using the Saddam Fedayeen to carry out a bombing and assassination campaign in London, Iran, and the "self ruled" areas of Iraq, a likely reference to Iraqi Kurdistan. While these documents do not by themselves prove the veracity of Putin's remarks, if they are deemed to be authentic they would appear to indicate that his claims did not occur in a vacuum.

IF EITHER DOCUMENT can be verified as accurate, it would seem to refute a long-standing contention among members of the U.S. intelligence community that Iraq ceased its involvement in international terrorism after its failed 1993 plot to assassinate former President George H.W. Bush. Indeed, the following exchange is reported in former counterterrorism chief Dick Clarke's book Against All Enemies:

[Anti-terror czar Dick Clarke said], "I am unaware of any Iraqi-sponsored terrorism directed at the US since 1993, and I think FBI and CIA concur in that judgment?" CIA Deputy Director John McLaughlin replied, "Yes, that is right. We have no evidence of any active Iraqi terrorist threat against the US."

It would be sad to learn that the Russian Federation's intelligence service was better informed as to Iraq's terrorist capabilities than were their American counterparts.

On April 10, 2006, Teddy Chappaquidick Kennedy joined thousands of illegal aliens in Washington, DC and shouted into a microphone, "Report to deport? NO! Report to become citizens!" As soon as the words left his booze soaked lips, a translator repeated them in Spanish to this audience of law breakers who don't even speak the language of our land. Not to be outdone, America hater, Marxist Hillary Clinton, yelled into the microphone, "You are the faces of America." Of course, that would be the criminals in the audience who smuggled themselves across the border and the vicious M-13 gang members seen not too far from her soap box, adorned in their multitudes of tattoos. Clinton also shouted into the microphone that these lawbreakers in the audience represented "American values." I wonder if she practiced that one in the mirror so she could utter such gibberish with a straight face?

At the protest in Phoenix, billed by cable networks all day as "immigrant rights" marches, a woman being interviewed by a reporter said she has been here nine years and has the "right" to be given citizenship. Nine years and she still speaks no English; a translator was speaking into the microphone. This woman apparently didn't get the memo: you broke the law when you smuggled yourself across the border and have no rights except to be deported regardless of how long you've been able to evade law enforcement. Another illegal shouted at the podium, "We're here today and we vote tomorrow." Yep, that's exactly how racist Antonio Villagarosa got "elected" mayor of Los Angeles: illegals voting.

These protest marches by illegals are well funded operations with big bucks from communist front operations like A.N.S.W.E.R. Make no mistake about this one: A.N.S.W.E.R. and the money behind their curtain are anti-American and the absolute antithesis of what this country stands for and real American values

While these pusillanimous law breakers were proclaiming to the world on various cable channels that no one need respect the laws of our republic, a small town in California has proclaimed they will refuse to enforce federal immigration law; quoting from an newswire story:

"Maywood, population 45,000 and 96 percent Latino, is a self- proclaimed "sanctuary" for illegal immigrants. The deputy Mayor had this to say on April 5, 2006: "We did it because people in the community came to us and said we have to take a stand," says Deputy Mayor Felipe Aguirre, who runs a small Mexican art gallery on traffic-clogged Slauson Avenue. All last year, he says, residents became increasingly agitated about the Minutemen - groups of citizens, sometimes armed - standing watch at the US border to alert officials to illegal border-crossings. Then, in December, the House passed its tough border-security bill.

"The world around us is caught up in draconian ideas to tighten the noose around people who are taking care of their kids, landscaping their homes, making their clothes, picking their food," says Mr. Aguirre. "We believe there is a higher law."

What hubris. Obviously Aguirre is ignorant of the supreme law of the land and he plainly doesn't grasp the concept of homeland security or what this full blown invasion means for this republic. This IS a full blown invasion which has been underway for two decades while Congress has sat around on their ineffective backsides ignoring the problem until the magnificent Minutemen shoved it right down their throats. As for Aguirre, if these workers taking care of kids, doing landscape work and making clothes are here illegally, they have no legal right to be doing those jobs, period. Aguirre's position is that of so many of Mexican ancestry: the laws of America do not matter if it furthers the agenda of the invaders. His beloved illegals are taking jobs from Americans:

"Congress should remember the following: The United States has tens of millions of low-skilled unemployed and underemployed legal residents, including Hurricane Katrina victims and welfare recipients. They should work in jobs currently held by illegal aliens. Extending welfare or unemployment benefits are not long-term solutions. If the United States keeps massively exporting jobs and importing workers, American job seekers will have great difficulty finding work.

"President Bush and Congress must not repeat the mistake of 1986 that amnestied 3 million illegal aliens. (Measures in that legislation to curb illegal immigration have been mostly ignored.) Because legalization and other benefits have been granted to illegal aliens, their numbers in the United States have at least quadrupled!"

Deputy Mayor Aguirre is in violation of federal law because he is advocating, aiding and betting unlawful activity; see here. Aguirre should be removed from office and charged with several felonies. Allowing America haters like Aguirre to remain in office does nothing but encourage lawlessness that is going to come back and bite the America people big time in the near future.

I have friends who live in the Phoenix area that speak fluent Spanish. Over the weekend before the big marches on April 10, 2006, Spanish speaking radio was sending this message: "Hide what's in your heart today. We know in your heart your allegiance is to Mexico, but today use your head. Americans were upset about Mexican flags and our show of solidarity for reconquista. Now we must wear white shirts and wave the American flags being handed out. It will be difficult because we know in your heart your love is for Mexico, but hide it today."

Why the new packaging? The massive marches that have gone on the past few weeks haven't produced the desired sympathy from Americans because of the militant, in-your-face Mexican flag waving hoodlums, school kids without the brains to connect two cells at one time and burning the American flag. So, let's change the marketing tactics in an attempt to show America what good little law breakers we are while in our hearts, the goal remains the same: unimpeded invasion and the the complete take over of a country without a shot being fired. For those who still think this is all about "the American dream," the goal isn't for America, it's to relocate the slums of Mexico into your neighborhood:

"In 1995, Henry Cisneros, then U.S. secretary of housing and urban development, declared at a Hispanic conference at the University of California at Riverside, "(A)s the Latino population goes, so goes the state of California, and as goes the state of California, so goes the United States of America. My friends, the stakes are big. This is a fight worth making."

"In 1997, Ernest Zedillo, then president of Mexico, declared in Chicago, "(T)he Mexican nation extends beyond the territory enclosed by its borders and ... Mexican migrants are an important a very important part of it."

"In 2004, Mexican President Vicente Fox said in Chicago, "We are Mexicans that live in our territories and we are Mexicans that live in other territories. In reality, we are 120 million people that live together and are working together to construct a nation."

In my March 27, 2006, column, I wrote: "I told my friends at the time: this unchecked in-your-face, "we demand respect" display by illegals will embolden them to demand they be given a free pass and when that doesn't happen, it will reach the point of violence." I was right. An AP story on April 10, 2006, carried this quote from a brazen lawbreaker holding a job that belongs to an American: "If we don't protest they'll never hear us," said Oscar Cruz, 23, a construction worker who marched among the estimated 50,000 in San Diego. Cruz, who came illegally to the U.S. in 2003, said he had feared a crackdown but felt emboldened by the large marches across the country in recent weeks."

As law enforcement has stood by watching, the hordes believe that they can rub their lawlessness and illegal status in our faces and the more they get away with it, the bolder they will become. The marches on Monday were not without violence, but very little was shown on the stupid tube to the masses. In the piece of nonsense legislation Bill Frist tried to shove down our throats last week, one of the three tiers is that illegals who smuggled themselves across the border within the last two years must make nice, pick up and go "home." Oh, right, Bill. Are you really so absent of brain matter you actually believe these lawbreakers are going to simply get in their cars or on a bus and go back to Mexico without a fight? I darn straight guarantee you, not only is there NO way to verify when they slithered across the border, the minute enforced deportation becomes law, the violence will escalate which is why I keep harping on the state militias as mandated under the Second Amendment. (See the Dr. Edwin Vieria special CD on this; scroll to the bottom).

The issue of illegal immigration is not a popularity contest, one of race or "jobs Americans won't do." It's about the law and stopping an agenda that is destroying this republic. Lou Dobbs has done a great job on this issue and the other night as a guest on some cable show, he said we must treat these illegals humanely during this process. I agree and a criminal is a criminal regardless of which law they have broken. A thief stealing into your house gets treated humanely during the process of accountability. The same should apply to illegals who have broken into our home like thieves. They managed to smuggle themselves across the border knowing full well they were breaking our laws. If an illegal has been here ten years, they still have to be deported. Longevity does not give illegals who break federal immigration law a free pass, period. To adopt any other position is to admit defeat and show you can be broken. Only the stupid don't understand the concept that an enemy will stomp your face into the ground at the first sign of weakness.

My mailbox has been full with basically the same question: Why is Congress so afraid to take immediate steps to enforce existing laws and begin the round up and deportation of illegals? Three fold: (1) Bush and many members of Congress embrace one world government and globalism. (2) votes and cowardice. The issue of political fall out (instead of the concerns about the law of the land and the continued slaughter of Americans by illegals) has been covered me by and dozens of journalists. (3) Cowardice, because Congress knows full well that when the order comes down for enforcement and deportation, these illegals are not going to simply say, "Okay, no problem, I'll catch the next Greyhound to Tijuana or flight to communist China, Syria or Afghanistan." With the exception of a handful, Congress simply doesn't have the courage to get the job done and the states seem equally unwilling to protect their citizens and uphold the law. While these elected public servants have sat around discussing the invasion or wringing their hands, the magnificent Minutemen, First Defenders Corps and the folks at Border Fence Project have been overwhelmed doing their jobs.

Now, it's up to you, me and every able bodied American to plan for a massive drive to make these elected public servants see the light. Congress will be back from their latest vacation on April 24th. Frist, McCain, Hillarious, Kennedy and the rest of the varmints will once again try to shove an amnesty bill down our throats and we simply CANNOT allow that to happen or the game is over. The utter and complete failure of the 1986 immigration "reform" bill has facilitated and promoted the continued invasion and any amnesty in any flavor now will sound the death knell for this republic and that's not hyperbole. Over the next two weeks we must all put other "stuff" on hold and join with our fellow warriors and bury Congress upon their return with phone calls and faxes. These are some of the groups and organizations to contact and get ready for Congress' return:

NumbersUSA.com - their direct action link is here.
American Patrol
Americans for Legal Immigration

Don't forget to use the power of your wallet and boycott employers who hire illegals: see here.

Many folks have written me the past few days about the Seventeenth Amendment after they read about it in my last column and it's critical connection regarding issues like invasion and homeland security. Due to so many requests, you can get Bill Benson's full size manual which contains proof the Seventeenth Amendment was never ratified by sending $17.00 to: Bill Benson, P.O. Box 550, South Holland, Illinois 60473. I have been to the National Archives with constitutional attorney, Larry Becraft, and I have the court certified documents from the California State Archives which prove that amendment was never ratified, it is fraud. In response to other requests about Bill's lawsuit against the government, the feds are still sitting on their hands trying to formulate new lies to cover the old ones; no new filings. [To understand more about the 17th Amendment, be sure to read "Whatever Happened to America?"]

Remember the deception: Hide what's in your hearts today. We know your allegiance is to Mexico, but fool the American people for now.

Are we a nation of warriors or observers? Please contact the organizations above and in two weeks show Congress, the legislatures of the 50 states and their governors that we the people demand our laws be enforced and NO amnesty, period. Also, I think those who are planning counter protests against giving illegals a free pass should carry huge signs with a big boot and underneath in equally big letters: Congress. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Everything is great, they tell us.

The economy is booming, unemployment is down, home ownership is up, and the Dow is sky-rocketing. Everywhere you look building projects are flourishing, and, of course, we are winning the war on terror.

If everything is so peachy, why do so few people seem to be really happy?

I compare it to the time our team lost a game we should have won. No matter how many people told us “great game boys,” or “you did your best,” or “get ‘em next time,” or “the refs killed us,” nothing could change the feeling in my stomach. I knew we had let one get away. Nothing gnaws away like an opportunity lost and the realization that we will never get it back.

That is where I see America, looking in the rear-view mirror, at what we used to be.

Proverbs 13:22 A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children:

I believe that the latter part of the 20th century will be seen as the greatest squandering of an inheritance in the history of the world.

Today, as I reflect on my rapid 53 years on this earth my stomach churns the same way it did when I let that sure-victory slip away. The baby-boom generation, of which I fall in the latter part, was lucky enough to be born at the zenith of the American ascendancy. Freshly victorious in WWII, and optimistic about the future, our parents popped the clutch on the great American opportunity, and enjoyed the most prosperous existence of any people ever to grace the face of the earth. Our parents inherited from their fore-fathers the greatest experiment in self-government ever devised, and it was based on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Tom Brokaw labeled the baby boom parents "The Greatest Generation.” They turned back Nazi Germany, Hirohito’s Japan, conquered polio, tuberculosis, and split the atom. Their labors built the most powerful economic machine the world has ever seen, constructing interstate highways, skyscrapers, color televisions, the space program, and the Mustang. The freedoms enjoyed in this nation were the catalyst for un-imagined prosperity.

“And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.” —Declaration of Independence

Nothing seemed beyond the reach of American ingenuity. By all appearances God’s blessings were abundantly visible. The Greatest Generation lived in a nation where Christ was honored. He was at the center of schools, the foundation in our homes, and the pillar of our government. But in their desire to do bigger things, they forgot to do better things. They traded their spiritual inheritance for a pot of stew.

They didn’t mind the store.

Somewhere, in the desire to conquer outer-space, the Greatest Generation lost control of America’s inner-space. Working to increase their wealth, they lost their values. They cleaned up the environment but polluted America’s soul. They transferred their prosperity to their children, but not their Faith. They stood silently by as Christ was removed from this nation.

Yes, my friends, they spent the inheritance.

Let’s be gut honest here, folks. There is no liberty in America anymore. Government has become the over-reaching tyrant that our Founders warned us about. Christ, the only firm foundation, was strip-mined from America. Outwardly the ground looked the same, but underneath, out of sight, a new support system was in place, and America was slowly sinking into the swamp.

The spirit of the world replaced the Spirit of the Lord. When the authority of government overthrew the authority of Christ, America lost her way.

We are a shadow of our old self; we're a debt ridden, morally confused, decadent society now struggling to hold up the arms of Lady Liberty. We have traded liberty for security, Truth for tolerance, right for wrong and now lament an age long gone.

Our only hope is for America to return to Christ.

All of the talk about spreading democracy to the world is a pipe dream. As I have watched Iraq institute a government based on the laws of Islam, I can’t help but chuckle at the folly, even though it is not a laughing matter. There will never be peace in Iraq, unless they welcome the Prince of Peace.

Charles Spurgeon said: “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. (2 Corinthians 3:17). Liberty is the heirloom of all the sons and daughters of Adam. But where do you find liberty unaccompanied by religion? True it is that all men have a right to liberty, but it is equally true that you do not meet it in any country save where you find the Spirit of the Lord…In no other land, save where the Bible is unclasped—in no other realm, save where the gospel is preached, can you find liberty…It is where the Spirit of the Lord is that there is liberty, and nowhere else. Men talk about being free: they describe model governments, Platonic republics, or Owenite paradises; but they are dreamy theorists; for there can be no freedom in the world, save, "where the spirit of the Lord is."

American’s speak about liberty and freedom, but we really don’t understand what that means anymore. Because we have allowed the government to reign supreme over the church, we are seeing an increase of violence and unrest in the most “free” nation of the world. How can that be?

The Spirit of the Lord no longer reigns in American. No Spirit, no liberty.

If our nation is to survive, we must return to Christ.

I am reminded of Pat Tillman, the late pro football player who walked away from the NFL only to die from friendly-fire in Afghanistan. When asked why he walked away from the NFL to fight for his nation, Tillman responded, "My great-grandfather fought in Pearl Harbor, my family has fought in five wars, and I haven't done a damn thing as far as laying myself on the line like that."

He speaks for a lot of us who haven’t done a damn thing. Pat Tillman understood heritage and duty. He understood what made America great.

Freedom of religion is a Christian idea! If American soldiers will fight and die to establish Islam as the national religion of Iraq, is it too much to ask for those of us who carry the name of Christ, to do all we can to see Him returned to His rightful place as Lord over this nation?

The battle lines are drawn, the war for America rages, and the Churches are the new MIA’s. Is there peace in America today? No Jesus, No Peace.

I Kings 18:21 “And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? If the Lord be God follow Him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered not a word.”

It is time to welcome Him back.

Robert Winthrop said, "All societies of men must be governed in some way or other. The less they have of stringent State Government, the more they must have of individual self-government. The less they rely on public law or physical force, the more they must rely on private moral restraint. Men, in a word, must necessarily be controlled either by a power within them, or a power without them; either by the word of God, or by the strong arm of man; either by the Bible or by the bayonet."

GLOBALISM: YOU WON’T LIKE IT!

GLOBALISM: YOU WON’T LIKE IT!
By Frosty Wooldridge

NewsWithViews.com

When you look at globalists like Senator Kerry, Condi Rice, Vice President Cheney, Senator Frist, President Bush and others in our nation’s capitol, you’re looking at men and women performing a frightening experiment on the United States of America. You’re also looking at men and women who have failed to stand up for the U.S. Constitution.

They’ve failed their oath of office. They contrived us into an un-winnable war; created a horrific national debt; opened our borders to unending illegal immigration; outsourced, insourced and offshored jobs stolen from our middle class—and finally, they abet lawlessness of 20 million illegal aliens—instead of preserving our rights as American citizens.

These leaders support globalism. Their goal is to bring this country into line with the poverty and corruption of Third World countries like Mexico. A reader said, “You Americans have been living an artificially high standard of living for far too long; its time you drop down to the poverty levels of the Third World. Massive immigration will do that to you.”

With one million legal immigrants pouring into our nation from Third World countries annually and over three million illegal aliens crossing America’s borders each year—folks, that man must be laughing his head off at our sinking into poverty like millions in the Third World.

Globalization, or globalism, means centralization operating on a global scale - that is to say, centralization aiming at global dictatorship, a kind of ultimate expansion of tyranny. It follows that everything you see in the realm of politics, economics, human rights, and especially in all things seen as social engineering, reflect the endeavors of centralization. This will not change course, nor will it self-destruct! No! It needs to be opposed!

An interview with Mel Fowler concerning the debilitating aspects of America’s dabbling in globalism may provoke an outcry, and later, fear of the future.

“I think most Americans have some idea of what "tyranny" means,” Fowler said. “It's a quaint word we haven't heard people use for quite some time. Because things that have been happening to us in our United States of America of late, the word tyranny is coming back into use.

“Before our very eyes, the United States has been transformed from a settled, relatively good-natured, comfortable country into an imperialist, war-making state. The whole world is mad at the United States!

Fowler continued, “When I was a child, we were poor. Even seemingly solid businesses struggled to stay alive. We worried about unemployment, the depression and the approaching war (WWII) yet, in some way that's hard to explain, we were happy. Or perhaps I should say we had faith that the underlying supports were still in place. We were poor, and we didn't have anything. We are still poor, but now most of us have everything we might want, and then some - most of it acquired by going into debt.

“Now we have globalism. It is an extension, to include the entire planet, of everything the British Empire aimed at. More than two centuries ago, Americans fought to free themselves from British Imperialism. Globalism, the current form taken by the lusts for empire is guaranteed tyranny for us all, except for the globalist elites. It is infinitely authoritarian in its mind set. It would seem that the globalist center of power will be seated at such a distance that there will be no concern or need for democracy, constitutionalism, or legal protections for common people, whose numbers are to be so drastically reduced.”

The front line of the conflict we have with globalism is its very opposite, NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY.

“Whereas globalism seeks to centralize authority, power and wealth in the hands of its elite,” Fowler said. “The interests of common people are served, not by centralization of those items, but by the opposite of centralization: by a distributive scheme regarding authority, power and wealth. National sovereignty is the only thing you have that protects those things that you most treasure. Without it, you have nothing. Providing you are willing to join forces with others like you, with the retention of national sovereignty, you might just have a fighting chance. If we lose our national sovereignty, hence our freedom and all else we care about, we will never get it back.

“The overlords of globalism appear now to be attempting to sprint to their goal of world dictatorship, and we now have some other things to worry us, not the least of which is the destructive power of several million illegal aliens pouring into our country every year.

“We have completely lost control of the political life of this country. The two-party system works splendidly for the globalists who captured our country some time ago. Those who see that the United States is in serious trouble are dismayed by the appearance that the great majority of our citizenry are not aware of it. They go on as if life is sweet and getting sweeter.

“As everyone knows, the two-party political system we have is rotten to the core. The public perception is that there are two ways to waste your vote: (1) vote the ticket of one of the major parties or (2) vote otherwise (i.e., third party or write in).

“Our legislative bodies are no longer responsive to the citizens and their needs, members of Congress and the Senate now answerable only to special interests represented by lobbying organizations such as AIPAC, the sources of wealth they depend on for necessary re-election money.

“Our manufacturing facilities and manufacturing jobs with them have been moved overseas. We are now dependent on China to produce and sell us what we need.

“As a result of profligate spending on wars and the maintenance of the huge military forces thought to be necessary for the Imperial power our government in its dream-like condition believes it to be, the United States now has the greatest burden of debt in its history, both public and private, accumulated during the period in which we acquired the greatest number of new millionaires and billionaires ever to grace our land, while the U.S. economy now perches on the precipice of collapse and bankruptcy, Alan Greenspan having performed magnificently for Wall Street.

“Our Constitution, laws and freedoms, are being trashed piecemeal by people who appear to place no value on those freedoms which the Constitution of the United States guarantees to its citizens, such people coming to America from various dictatorial regimes where they never acquired a respect for our love of freedom.

“The United States and its national sovereignty, we are told, are soon to become a thing of the past, the territory it now occupies to become part of a "region" in the globalist scheme consisting of Canada and Mexico with the former United States in between.

“We find that we have been substantially lied to about the purposes of environmental and land preservation measures, most of which we now know are tied into globalist endeavors under the sponsorship of the UN, to evict the public from most of the land we Americans thought of in the past as belonging to the people of our country for their use and enjoyment.

“Farmers who wish to continue to be farmers will not be allowed to produce their own seed for crops of subsequent years, but will have to apply to Monsanto or other corporate monstrosity for purchase of genetically modified seeds, from which only next year's crop may be grown.

“Law enforcement in The United States is rapidly being consolidated under the federal government and The Department of Homeland Security with its political biases, its inattention to aliens coming into the country, its taste for annoying ordinary American citizens with inappropriate personal searches at airports, its preemption of responsibility for local police departments and County Sheriffs, and other outrages.”

Millions of illegal aliens marching in our streets in promotion of anarchy in the past two weeks without fear of our president manifesting his oath of office and our impotent Congress not standing for the rule of law--exhibit the worst behavior of our leaders. It also shows you that the reader was correct, “You Americans have been living an artificially high standard of living; it’s time for you to drop down to the poverty levels of the rest of the Third World. Immigration will do that to you.” Globalism—you won’t like it because it will make America country like their countries. The American Dream dies with globalism.

THE NATION WITHIN

THE NATION WITHIN

Phyllis Spivey
April 4, 2006
NewsWithViews.com

Are you listening, America? Did you hear the wake up call generated by Latino protests against pending immigration legislation?

It should be clear by now that what’s growing within U.S. borders is a nation within a nation. And the new nation is comprised of lawbreakers, many of whom claim the Southwest as their own. They disrespect our Constitution, our institutions, our flag and our legal processes, and from all indications owe their loyalty to another country. Yet they demand the rights and benefits meant solely for law abiding American citizens.

In pursuit of those rights, Latinos launched a series of demonstrations across the U.S., culminating in a 500,000 person march in Los Angeles, Saturday, March 25. Two days later, anarchy reigned at many Southern California schools where an estimated 22,,000 protesting students boycotted classes, blocked freeways and city streets. The same day thousands of demonstrators marched in Detroit, Grand Rapids and Washington, D.C.

Mel Johnson, writing for Human Events Online, ominously calls it "the new normal ... the predictable and unimpeded flow of the political culture of Latin America into the United States." Holding signs in Spanish, waving Mexican flags, chanting "Mexico! Mexico!", waves of marching humanity convey a message: We’re here; we’re powerful; ignore us at your peril.

Johnson warns that what "the protests truly represent is the colonization of America by the Latin style of politics." Let’s put it another way: The Third World is moving on the First World. Today it’s peaceful demonstrations that merely imply threat, but what of tomorrow? Rioting, burning, and pillaging? Think France and the Muslims. Think Bosnia and Kosovo.

Who knows what members of the Senate Judiciary Committee were thinking when they bypassed tough immigration legislation approved by the House to produce an amnesty measure promoted by Senators John McCain and Ted Kennedy. It puts 11 million to 20 million illegal workers on a path to U.S. citizenship and creates a guest worker program.

The committee’s action was breaking news on CNN Anchor Lou Dobbs’ March 27 program. Unable to conceal his outrage, Dobbs quoted President Theodore Roosevelt about the importance of being an immigrant in this country.

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith, becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man’s becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American.

"There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room but for one flag, the American flag ... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language. And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Moving on, Dobbs declared: "The government doesn’t know how many illegal aliens live in the United States. But we know what they cost. And that’s plenty." CNN Correspondent Christine Romans presented the alarming figures:

Today, anywhere from 3,000 to 8,000 illegal aliens will cross the border.

According to the Pew Hispanic Center, more people are now coming here illegally than through legal channels. More than half enter without a high school education, and American public schools educate their children.

The Federation for American Immigration Reform says taxpayers spend $12 billion a year on primary and secondary school education for children here illegally. Another $17 billion for the American-born children of illegal aliens, known as anchor babies.

It is federal law to provide free emergency health care to those here illegally. Congress has set aside a billion taxpayer dollars each year to reimburse all hospitals – a total, administrators complain, is a fraction of their costs.

Meanwhile, employers hire cheap labor with virtually no risk. The Government Accountability Office found only three employers fined in 2004 for illegal hiring, down from 417 in 1999.

At the same time, America’s criminal justice system is bulging with these citizens of other countries. According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, 30 percent of federal prisoners are not U.S. citizens. Most are thought to be illegal aliens.

But if the McCain-Kennedy legislation disturbs Dobbs, it surely pleases President Bush, Mexican President Vicente Fox, and everyone illegally in the U.S. or planning to come. And, what a coincidence! It was approved just in time for Presidents Bush and Fox to celebrate with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper at their summit in Cancun, Mexico, March 30-31 – a display of unity fitting to their discussions of union.

According to Dobbs on March 28, Presidente Fox, who has taken credit for the committee legislation, says it resulted from five years of work that began with his inauguration as Mexico’s president. He says it’s one step closer to Mexico’s goal of "legalization for everyone" who works in the United States.

Fox has already indicated that, in addition to immigration reform, he wants numerical numbers on visas lifted, and he wants portable social security benefits for Mexicans working in the U.S. He’s likely to get both concessions – the first from NAFTA, which provides for it – the second from the Bush Administration, which has already signed a social security agreement with Mexico. Congress could block it, but when mobs take to the streets, how many lawmakers will stand against "the new normal?"

American citizens must send their own wake up call. Telephone toll free: Senators 888-355-3588; Congressmen 877-762-8762. Demand that your representatives support the legislation passed by the House of Representatives: HR 4437. It includes strong border enforcement, no amnesty, and no guest worker program.

MERGING THE U.S., CANADA & MEXICO

MERGING THE U.S., CANADA & MEXICO

By Rusty Mason
March 30, 2006
NewsWithViews.com

Well, the Bush regime's efforts to merge the US, Canada, and Mexico into one regional government are almost complete. These actions are not missteps, as some conservatives would like to believe, but deliberate and purposeful efforts for a regional government. A few reminders:

Merging the US, Canada, & Mexico
Bush Decries Border Project
Alberto Gonzalez and La Raza
1 Million Aliens Released into General Population

We have to face it. We have to admit it out loud, each of us, not only to ourselves, but to each other. Bush is a radical liberal, a global communist -- always has been, always will be. He is a bona fide traitor to America, as his actions throughout his administration have clearly shown. Can anyone trust this traitor and his Straussian neo-cons about ANYTHING? Health care? Immigration? War on drugs? Education? 9-11? Homeland Security? National ID cards? Of course not.

The Iraq and Iran wars. Who can support the ridiculous idea of spreading democracy in the Middle East when we cannot even hold onto our own republic? Which of our children are to die for "democracy in Iraq?" So that this idea gets through, please state their names. Do this: announce to your parents and to your spouse which ones you would like to see risk their lives for this Jacobin fantasy. Also imagine that you might someday be standing at your child's funeral, holding back the tears while praising his or her heroic efforts of trying to bring democracy to Iraq. Would the truth of our situation be clear to you then?

The war on terror. Another farce. Most of our leaders and big businesses are intentionally holding our borders wide open, even while we are subject to increasingly intrusive and humiliating searches and seizures. They are encouraging the building of mosques using government money. Bush constantly praises Islam as a "religion of peace." Our city, state, and federal governments have dismantled our immigration controls, which worked fairly well. The border wall, new immigration laws, and national ID cards are not only unnecessary, they will merely increase the oppressive power of this new Soviet-style police state.

What kind of country are we building for our children? Congress is spending like LBJ and FDR rolled into one. American-hating free-loaders are pouring into our country, literally by the millions. Taxes will increase significantly over our children's lifetimes. They must: real wages are still going down, ever more jobs are being shipped overseas, the Fed is flooding the world with fiat money (M3, an official measure of this money, will soon go unreported), and real inflation is running close to 10%. We are in serious danger of losing our middle class completely.

Do you think that your "conservative" talk show hosts are going to alert you to the truth? Really? When did Bill Bennett inform you that Bush's "No Child Left Behind" is the same UNESCO (United Nations) program as it was under the name of "Goals 2000" and "School to Work?" When did Savage point out that the architects of the war in Iraq, Bush's closest advisors, belong to the Likud party, a political party of a foreign government which is naturally hostile to Iraq? I don't listen to Rush, but I doubt that he made much of a fuss over the LaRaza ("The Race") affiliation of Bush's attorney general.

When did Sean Hannity tell you about Bush's intentions to merge the US, Canada, and Mexico into one EU-style regional government? When did Bill O'Reilly tell you that the national ID card was designed by an ex-KGB chief, and that the effort began years before 9-11? When did Laura Ingram alert listeners that the US government is planning on building concentration camps across the country? (Google "KBR", "Emergency Support Services", "Homeland Security", and "Concentration Camps" if you don't believe me.)

You didn't hear this because the "main stream" media is still very liberal, still in the hands of die-hard Bolsheviks. We must face this disaster with courage. We are on our own.

Consider what will happen when 10's of millions of Mexican nationals and other illegals are given de facto American citizenship. They will bring their families. They will vote themselves huge raises at our expense. They will become police officers, soldiers, and in time, lawyers and politicians. Waving the Mexican flag, they will work to remake the United States in their own corrupt image.

Already, we are at a disadvantage. Hate-crime laws are stacked against Americans. The Constitution, Bill of Rights, and the traditional rights of Englishmen are being furiously attacked by a supposedly "conservative" government and administration. Our government leaders admit, and many endorse, torture. Hard-won, traditional limits against government abuse, such as Habeas Corpus and Mens Rea are disappearing. Our government now openly spies on its own citizens. Americans have always known that that was something only communist governments do.

(Do you remember what conservatism what like in the 60's? Remember Barry Goldwater? What is now left to conserve?)

And the "Patriot" Act? Can that name be any more insulting? Do you remember that it was rushed into law before Congress even had time to read it, and that it has since been roundly criticized and called a death blow to what's left of the Constitution by both liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans? Well, hold onto your lunch because, as bad as the Patriot Acts I & II are, there are many more laws and legal rulings that are not only destroying our freedoms, but laying the groundwork for a nightmare. Read Paul Craig Roberts' book, The Tyranny of Good Intentions, for a very scary list. Then re-read Orwell's 1984, The Communist Manifesto, and Huxley's Brave New World to get a picture of where all of this is headed.

What can you do? Well, you could help impeach Bush. You could join the Minutemen Project, the FreeState Project, and/or the Christian Exodus. You could homeschool your children. You could consider third parties. Better yet, you could vote for the man and not the party.

But before you do any of those things -- and I cannot stress this strongly enough -- you must make a personal confession (if you haven't already). You must openly denounce the present situation. Sounds so simple, doesn't it? Silly, really, when you think about it. But can you do it? Can you criticize Bush's regime to your friends as strongly and easily as you criticize Bill and Hillary and "those dirty Democrats"? If so, let's hear you.

Next, can you stand up to the liars and the lackeys in your party and tell them that you've had enough? Will you risk alienation, your reputation, attacks by the IRS, to side with the few real patriotic leaders, men like Ron Paul?

If conservatives cannot admit out loud, right now to everyone, that most of the leaders in our government are actively betraying our American nation, then nothing will change for the better. We can stop this and prevent the enslavement of our children, but only if we act out, right here, right now. Are you brave enough to see what is right in front of you? Will you risk announcing that the emperor has no clothes?

"Let me now take a more comprehensive view, and warn you in the most solemn manner against the baneful effects of the spirit of party, generally.

"This spirit, unfortunately, is inseparable from our nature, having its root in the strongest passions of the human mind. It exists under different shapes in all governments, more or less stifled, controlled, or repressed; but in those of the popular form, it is seen in its greatest rankness, and is truly their worst enemy." -- George Washington in his 1796 Farewell Address.

"Sell not virtue to purchase wealth, nor Liberty to purchase power." -- Benjamin Franklin, in the 1738 Poor Richard's Almanack 29 March, 2006

CONFESSIONS OF A FORMER REPUBLICROID ZOMBIE

CONFESSIONS OF A FORMER REPUBLICROID ZOMBIE

By David Brownlow
April 9, 2006
NewsWithViews.com

Republicroid Zombieism – It is real, it is dangerous, and it has left millions of otherwise intelligent Americans stumbling through life hopelessly trapped in a state of delusion and denial. This insidious virus can creep up on the unsuspecting so slowly that most do not even realize they have been stricken. But soon after the infection sets in, words begin to lose all meaning - death is life, war is peace, lies are truth, stealing is giving, and slavery is freedom.

It can happen to anyone. I know, because I am a former Republicroid Zombie.

Republicroid Zombies can often be difficult to detect, because unlike those infected by the Democroid strain of the virus, most can carry on somewhat normal lives. They have families, hold down jobs, and often seem able to function on their own. But just beneath the facade, the virus is eating away at its victim’s brains, leaving them unable to form so much as a single independent opinion until commands are received from Fox “News” or some other Republicroid propaganda source.

It is painful, and a little embarrassing, to look back and realize that I was in a Republicroid trance-like state for nearly two decades. The high point, or low point, came shortly after the “Republican Revolution of 1994.” Those were heady times, and I was a believer. The Republicans were fresh off an election victory, with some very hard fought political clout at their disposal – and they promised to wield it like a club.

Yes, we were on a tear. We were finally going to stuff those evil Democrats in such a small box they wouldn’t see the light of day for a generation. We were going to take back this country by making our government obey the law for a change – which would dramatically trim federal spending and put an end to federal thievery and income redistribution.

We were going to shut down the Departments of Education, HHS, Agriculture, IRS, BATF, and any other destructive agency we could get our hands on. We would de-fund Planned Parenthood, PBS and the “arts.” The serial wars would end after we got out of the United Nations and shut down our participation in the “New World Order.”

Finally, and most importantly, we were confident that an emboldened “pro-life” Republican majority in Congress would act quickly to stop the abortion holocaust. We would finally avenge the millions of children who had been ground to a pulp by America’s legalized child-killing industry.

Little did we know that something very bad was happening on the way to the victory parade.

Although I did not know it at the time, my recovery began about 100 microseconds into Newt Gingrich’s “first 100 days” of the “Contract With America.” It was quite a remarkable betrayal, looking back. It seemed like the very instant the Republicans realized they had control of the House and the Senate was when the wheels started coming off the wagon that brought them to the victory. It became obvious they were so enamored with this newfound power that they would be willing to do absolutely anything to keep it.

It also became clear that the Democroid Zombies were never the real problem.

While many of us were still celebrating the start of the “revolution,” our enemies wasted no time in solidifying their control over the new members of Congress. They fiddled around with Monica while Clinton armed the Chinese with our latest missile guidance technologies. They talked of fiscal responsibility while they proposed budgets that greatly increased the expansion and intrusion of the federal government. They sat on their hands while 3,800 innocent children were murdered every single day.

Appeasement after appeasement, it soon became apparent that all we did was trade one gang of life-hating, big government-loving communists for a different one.

The past eleven years of Republican rule have been an absolute disaster for our economy, our freedom and our country. The destruction really began to accelerate once the Republicans consolidated their control of the Presidency along with both houses of Congress.

The Republican legacy since 1995 is now well known, but it bears repeating. In just eleven short years:

14,000,000 American babies have been murdered while “pro-life” Republicans – including the wolf in sheep’s clothes who occupies the White House – sat back and did absolutely nothing.

Serial, undeclared wars have cost the lives of tens of thousands while squandering hundreds of billions of borrowed dollars. American troops are left to languish in 140 of the world’s 193 countries.

Our borders have become a virtual sieve. We are in the process of being completely overrun by illegal immigrants. Meanwhile, less than 2% of incoming cargo containers are inspected.

Federal spending is up nearly 90% to $2.8 trillion, roughly 85% of which is illegal per the Constitution.

The “Federal” Reserve created $6,000,000,000,000 (that’s $6 trillion) in new money, out of thin air, and injected it into the economy. Nearly $800 billion was created just last year - resulting in the further destruction of the dollar. (See the M3 Stats)

The national debt ceiling has skyrocketed from $4.5 trillion to $9 trillion. Total debt stands at close to $50 trillion.

Annual deficits remain at $500 billion plus.

Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid and the other illegal income transfer schemes continue to gobble up nearly two thirds of every dollar stolen from us.

The federal courts assault on the Constitution marches on without any opposition from Congress.

Trade deficits are approaching a trillion dollars a year, killing off what little remains of our manufacturing base.

The list goes on and on.

Any person with even half a brain can look at the above and see that a moral and fiscal tsunami is quickly heading toward our shores. Yet, Republicroid Zombies can look at those same statistics and claim that since “conservatives” are running our government, everything must be OK. It is unbelievable.

A cure for Republicroid Zombieism does not look too promising. At this point, all we can do is keep telling the truth - while we get to enjoy our front row seat as we witness this once great nation implode on itself. We can also hope that enough of us are alive after the collapse to sift through the rubble and help put the pieces back together.

Republicroid Zombieism – it is real, it is deadly, and it is sucking the very lifeblood out of our Republic.
