YOUR CHIEF ADVERSARY

Erica Carle

NewsWithViews.com

After watching the quick approval of the so-called stimulus package it ought to be obvious to any thinking person that our so-called legislators, do not legislate. They do not even read proposed legislation before casting their votes.

Someone other than the legislators writes the legislation. Someone other than the senators and representatives decides what must be approved and what must be rejected. The so-called legislators merely put their unthinking sanction on packages they are told to approve. There is no need for them to read the legislation because they are not expected to think about what they are doing. They are not even expected to represent the thinking of voters in their states. There is no sense denying this fact because that is the way it IS. And IS means IS.

This impotence and robotization of legislative bodies was planned many years ago by none other than that crazy Frenchman, Auguste Comte. He made it perfectly clear in his Positive Philosophy that in the future, thinking would no longer be necessary or desirable on the part of most individuals. He wrote:

The requisite convergence of the best minds cannot be obtained without voluntary renunciation on the part of most of them, of their sovereign right to free inquiry.

One of his followers, sociologist, Lester Ward explained the situation as far as legislation is concerned. In his 1906 book Applied Sociology he boasted:

It must not be supposed that such legislation can be conducted to any considerable extent in the open sessions of legislative bodies. These will doubtless need to be maintained, and every new law should be finally adopted by a vote of such bodies, but more and more this will become merely a formal way of putting the final sanction of society on decisions that have been carefully worked out in what may be called the sociological laboratory.

So I maintain there is NO ONE, DEAD OR ALIVE, who is more to blame for the ongoing destruction of the United States and the United States Constitution than that crazy Frenchman, Auguste Comte.

Tell me about Edward Bellamy and Looking Backward; Madam Blavatsky, Annie Besant and the Theosophical Society; Theodore Herzl and the Zionists; John Dewey and his influence on education; Andrew Carnegie, the Rockefellers, Thomas J. Watson, etc., etc. After being inspired and instructed, directly or indirectly, by Comte, all of them worked for their own versions of world government. All of them were important. All of them and many others played significant roles in the drive to destroy nations. But the crazy Frenchman out-flummoxed every one of them. He accomplished for the WORld Management System (WORMS) what no one else had accomplished.

He not only convinced millions to stop thinking independently, he gave them what they believed was moral justification for the abandonment of self and personality. He did this by coining the word “otherism.” Otherism gave the WORMS promoters a feeling of virtue for the worship of Comte’s new goddess, Humanity. By claiming their motives come from otherism, the nation destroyers allowed themselves to believe they are not evil, not traitorous, not greedy, not naïve, not stupid. They are concerned -- totally concerned -- with the welfare of others. (otherism in French=altruism). The crazy Frenchman wrote:

The ultimate systematization of human life must consist above all in the development of otherism.

Man’s peaceful activity must become, not merely collective, but distinctly otheristic in character.

No matter what aspect of the ongoing destruction you are trying to prevent, this is one of the most important reasons why the crazy Frenchman is your chief adversary. Comte gave WORMS promoters a feeling of moral justification for the destruction of personality, and the destruction of nations that respect personality.

The WORMS desperately needed this feeling of justification, but they also needed something else -- a method. The crazy Frenchman also gave them that method. With just five words that he credited to Louis Napoleon, the simple plan of action was created.

TO DESTROY, YOU MUST REPLACE

Here is how it works:

To destroy Christianity he replaced it with the Great Being, the Goddess Humanity.
To destroy theology he replaced it with sociology.
To destroy Christian charity he replaced it with otherism.
To destroy nations he suggested replacing states with cities and the tracts of country, which freely adhere to them.
To destroy personal affection, he replaced it with love of all humanity.
To destroy personal knowledge he replaced it with control of public opinion and education.
To destroy Truth he replaced it with approval for censoring the achievements of all scientists who did not support evolution and Positive Philosophy.

The crazy Frenchman’s followers learned their lessons well:

To destroy Christian missions they replaced them with the Peace Corps.
To destroy Christian morality they replaced it with choose-your-own morality.
To destroy the states they are replacing them with regional government.
To destroy local control of education they replaced it with international sociological control by the United Nations.

To destroy government answerable to the people they are replacing it with government by political and social “scientists.”

To destroy independent businesses they are replacing them with government stimulus for international corporations approved by the International Chamber of Commerce.

To destroy government answerable to the people they are replacing it with government answerable to the United Nations.

Now you get the idea. We could go on and on. If you wish, please send me your additions to the ever-growing number of examples of TO DESTROY YOU MUST REPLACE.

The Hate Factory - a primer on the goals and methods of the crazy Frenchman's sociology and how it is used in schools to corrupt the children.

A CRY FOR THE CHILDREN

“Oh you blind leaders who seek to convert the world by labored disputations. Step out of the way or the world must fling you aside. Give us the young. Give us the young and we will create a new mind and a new earth in a single generation.” —Benjamin Kidd

This life is a mountainous road, and we are its travelers. Our journey is filled with bumps and potholes to be avoided. On either side of us are steep cliffs, the boundaries of which, if violated, can lead to utter destruction. Along the path, many signs are posted which warn us of potential dangers that lie ahead.

At times, we cheerfully travel without care — the blue skies and sunshine brilliantly lighting our way. We grow, we learn, we work, we fall in love, we marry, and we make babies and the cycle begins anew.

Life is a cycle. We enter the world as infants, dependent upon others. We have no knowledge, manners, or consideration of anyone but ourselves. Our concern involves only our own contentment at the moment. As we mature, the spectrum of our thoughts widens to include less of ourselves and more of others. We find our purpose is to live for those around us. We experience satisfaction and even joy in the giving of ourselves.

With age comes fragility and weakness. We begin to decrease in our abilities and increase in our dependence. Soon, others think and make decisions for us. Those for whom we’ve cared, become burdened with the task of caring for us. We become naive, vulnerable, and concerned only in the contentment of the moment. Life is, indeed, a cycle.

There are times, on our journey down life’s road, when we notice the storm clouds are beginning to form and the gales of change begin to blow, challenging the core of our souls. We tremble as, in the distance, we hear the threatening claps of thunder violating our tranquility, piercing our inner being with uncertainty.

It is in these tumultuous times, we ponder those around us. We wonder and worry about those who are most vulnerable among us. Our thoughts fall upon the elderly, our aging parents and grandparents. But most of all, we fear for the children.

Your writer is the father of two little girls. Actually, they aren’t quite so little anymore, as they’ve approached those oft-dreaded teenage years, when the transition from childhood to adulthood becomes apparent. As much as we’d like, we cannot keep them young forever. But with the maturity process, also comes an inevitable loss of innocence.

This innocence is best demonstrated in an incident I recall from a few years ago. As I was driving home through the countryside, my two daughters were in the car chattering away, as girls often do. A breeze ruffled our hair, as the perfumed country air entered the windows.

All at once, my youngest asked, “What’s that smell?”

“That’s the smell of nature,” I answered.

She pondered those words for a moment and then thoughtfully replied, “I’ve never smelled nature before.”

Without hesitation, my oldest daughter blurted out, “Get sprayed by a skunk and you’ll smell nature!”

Ah, “nature” from the perspective of a child! Without intent, children have a way of making us smile. Children enrich our lives beyond measure. Theirs is a perspective that is often untarnished by the harsh realities of a cruel world.

Yet, more and more, when I look into my daughters’ eyes, my smile often disappears as concern grips me. I see the next generation as one that will never know the meaning of true freedom. They will never know what it means to live without the constant fear of impending peril. Theirs is a generation that is being reared in a world filled with government-sponsored terror campaigns, alarm bells and whistles, high betrayal and outright treachery.

Their futures have being given away by sellout politicians to foreign interests in the name of fighting global poverty. Their ability to own, work, and live on the land has largely been ripped away from them at break-neck speed by Agenda 21 implementation, and no one seems to care. Even in the so-called “patriot” community, Agenda 21 is rarely discussed despite the fact that it is highly documentable, and every issue centers around its implementation, which is now 17 years underway.

What kind of government will our children inherit from us? What will be the legacy that we leave for them when our country is thoroughly bankrupt, has been for decades, but continues to borrow, print, and spend against the productivity and on the backs of future generations? How many generations, yet to be conceived, will be paying for the blatant and criminal looting of the American purse that is daily and contemptuously shoved in our faces?

The Bank for International Settlements is based in Basle, Switzerland and serves as the central bank for “our” very own Federal Reserve as well as other central banks around the world. Are we to believe that it is a mere coincidence that its headquarters building is built in the shape of a boot?

How does that make you feel, America, knowing their financial boot of poverty and enslavement will be crushing the tender faces of your children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren for centuries and, perhaps, forever? Is that not enough motivation for you to turn off your Simpsons, Entertainment Tonight, South Park, Comedy Central, your video games, your movies, your music concerts, and your sports shows, put down your beer and potato chips and at least make an effort for your country?

Will you continue to be worthless to the cause of freedom as you pursue your personal pleasures and entertainments, sitting idly by, while the America that you were able to enjoy is ripped away from those who come after you? If you don’t care about your country, will not your love for your posterity compel you to ward off your lethargy and animate yourself in the battle to preserve, protect, and restore our once-great republic? Or have the drugs of personal pacification rendered you maim, deaf, and dumb as you suck up the myriad lies and deceptions of your prostitute masters like a desert camel at a long-sought oasis? Will you continue to operate within the false dialectic that federal elections actually count for something, when the “opposing” party continues the wholesale destruction right where his predecessor abated?

Our children are being socially and intellectually conditioned to be world citizens. They are trained like animals to respond to immediate gratification, to lose their individuality and to be a part of a “community”. They are being indoctrinated with the religion of Gaia through their schools, courtesy of UNESCO and the tax-exempt foundations that write their text books.

They are bombarded with sexual pressures and imagery from the media and their peers. Their parents are too busy or too self-absorbed to provide the necessary guidance, boundaries, enforcement, and love that is required to shape their young lives. As a result, we are losing the next generation. Drugs, gangs, and pre-marital sex are filling the void where real parenting once stood.

Occultism and violence are purposefully and thoroughly embedded within today’s youth culture. They are prevalent in television, movies, video games — and now even commercial marketing campaigns!

For example, Japanese automaker Toyota rolled out a marketing campaign a couple of years ago for their Toyota Scion. Young people were the targeted demographic. A part of the marketing campaign was a web site-based video game called “Little Deviant.”

In the game, young players were introduced to a monochromatic world where environmental destruction is extremely apparent. Sound familiar? It gets worse.

The opening scene is a city slum, populated with creatures that appear to be human-sheep hybrids. The player is told that these “sheople” have “spread their grey disease” throughout the world. How many times have you heard the “sustainable development” crowd say that about you? How many times have you heard the whacko environmentalist extremists, from the UN on down, say that human beings are a cancer on earth? How many times have you read their documents detailing their own paid demographers’ projections about the rapid rise in population, the overcrowding of our cities, the overuse of resources, the need to curtail “urban sprawl?”

Bear in mind that the earth still possesses vast landscapes that are being put off limits to human habitation or use. There are hectares of land which could be lived upon, farmed, and properly managed if ordinary people would support one another when we’re targeted for removal.

What is the solution to over-crowded cities, human slums, over-use of the earth’s vast resources as defined by the psychopathic elites? We again turn our attention to the “Little Deviant” game.

Because these environment-degrading “sheople” are “boring,” the young player is urged to go door to door, in the fictional town, finding and ruthlessly slaughtering them. A deep-throated announcer urges, “turn their awful bleating into awesome bleeding.”

The “sheople” are harmless, innocent, helpless creatures who tremble at the sight of the player’s character — which can only be described as demonic-looking. As the “sheople” stand and tremble in terror, the player ruthlessly slashes them to pieces, their blood runs into the street, down a man whole and drips into a reservoir which appears elsewhere on the screen. Players are told they are to collect the blood of the “sheople” and it is used later in the game to lubricate the industrial machinery which manufactures the Toyota Scion.

What kind of a sick, demented mind would concoct such a mechanism to market an automobile? What underlying purpose could there be behind the desensitization process which is inherent in much of today’s youth culture? Are young people being conditioned to lose their sensitivity to the suffering of others? If so, then why? Could the next generation be the victims of a mass effort to program their subconscious so they won’t recoil in horror if asked to take part in heinous acts by their government? Are the ruling elite preparing our young people for the inevitable collapse of our monetary system, the famines that are being engineered for us, the crumbling social contract, and the ensuing chaos that they intend to use to usher in their new order?

There can be no doubt that children and youth have a vital role to play, not only as leaders of tomorrow, but as leaders of today. Chapter 25 of Agenda 21 outlines the importance of young people in the implementation of the Plan. It says,

“It is imperative that youth from all parts of the world participate actively in all relevant levels of decision-making processes because it affects their lives today and has implications for their futures. In addition to their intellectual contribution and their ability to mobilize support, they bring unique perspectives that need to be taken into account.”
What “unique perspectives” could children possess? They haven’t lived long enough to garner the necessary experiences and education to form sound opinions. Isn’t it interesting that the United Nations doesn’t seek input from the older, more experienced generation? Could these “unique perspectives” to which the global planners allude, be the results of their unrelenting indoctrination and conditioning of our young people?

The American people have become some of the most drugged up, dumbed down, brain-numbed, and media-manipulated people in the history of known civilization. The inability or unwillingness of the citizenry to examine what they are being told, to research and dig for documentation, and to demand answers to key questions of their public officials will be the chief factor in America’s demise.

America’s rise as a great and wealthy industrial nation has afforded us some of the highest standards of living in the world. We’ve gotten very comfortable with our central air-conditioned homes and offices, our backyard swimming pools and spas, our designer clothing, and our freezers crammed full of frozen and convenience foods. We are pacified with television, movies, video games, sports, music, and a million other meaningless diversions.

We’ve become so occupied with the pursuit of creature comforts and entertainments, that we don’t have the time to be concerned about the well-being of the system of government that made it all possible. And, as a result, we are losing it all. It is all being taken away from us by social scientists who are intent on engineering utopia on earth for themselves.

But when the final chapter is written, and the book is slammed shut which tells the story of what was once the greatest experiment in freedom humanity has ever known, our greatest loss will not be our freedom, our privacy, our jobs, our fortunes, our land, our food, our water, and the air that we breathe. The greatest loss Americans and the world will ever know, is if we allow the social engineers, architects, visioneers, and foundational think tanks — in mind, body, and soul — to take our children. If we allow that to happen, we will truly be the most bankrupt people the world has ever known.

THE U.S. IS STUCK IN FRANKENSTEIN'S LABORATORY

By Dr. Laurie Roth
February 20, 2009
NewsWithViews.com

We are sadly in a time in our country when we have no choice left but to fight for it. Notice I didn’t say gossip about it with friends, scream about it over coffee or give up because of depression or apathy! The U.S. is now being dissected in Frankenstein’s laboratory. Lets see, a little arm of Internationalism and submission to global elites here and a mangled leg of Marxism there. Here we see a twisted head of victimization and another arm of immorality and Godlessness! Doctor, the creature is starting to move and he is glowing with rage. “What can he destroy to focus this anger?”

The tree of our liberty is in danger and being threatened. Many of us don’t notice because we are seduced into distraction because we think we are being rescued and bailed out as we are being raped! We have sacrificed with this election and congress several core and key national principles. Lets listen to a few prophetic quotes from Thomas Jefferson. His complete quotes can be seen at www.brainyquote.com

“My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.”

“It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world.”

“The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.”

Isn’t that what we have drifted into as a country over the last few decades? Our history of achievement and enterprise that has truly led the world in manufacturing, inventions, music and science is now being sucked dry and being replaced by new philosophies of not achieving, not excelling, becoming a victim and drowning in the endless sea of debt.

With this latest series of bail out schemes, now another, we are entering the world of trillions of dollars of theft from the American people. Due to greed, stupidity and globalism we have sent away our manufacturing base and major industries, dumbing down and raiding our profits as a nation, while growing in the culture of stealing from one half of the people who are working to feed the other half who don’t want to work.

Another quote from a man who said it like it is: Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1931-2005

“You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”

Major body parts are being ripped from our country and before we can collect ourselves and fight to repair the damage we must know what is wrong and be clear about what is right!!! Then we must find the fortitude and courage to take back our schools, fight bad court rulings, take back our congress and entertainment industry. There is much we must accomplish. Among these battle lines are the following.

1. Disappearing manufacturing base. Wrong. We must bring industries back to the U.S.
2. Major companies making big bucks using practical slave labor abroad. Wrong. Bring them home and employ U.S. workers first.
3. We have this idea that all paths to God are the same. It’s about rights for everyone! Wrong. We are a Judeo-Christian country, with a strong and fought for Christian history and tradition. We must stop apologizing for it and protect it!
4. Banks and major businesses are failing so we must rescue them creating more national debt. Wrong! We must let capitalism work. Let bad banks and businesses fail or re organize like anyone else would have to fail or get private help.
5. We have drifted away from God. We must humble ourselves ask for forgiveness as individuals for ourselves and our nation and pray for God’s healing and intervention. This is a real area of power for change we have if we will seek Him.

A final quote from Thomas Jefferson:

“I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.”

Lets start healing our country first by praying for it, then getting our lives straight! Next we must find our voice and share our concerns with our members in congress. Fax, email and call while getting 10 friends to act as well. If movement and bills are going in the wrong direction in your town and state, make noise, yell, write articles, picket and march in the streets.

Onward and forward as we fight for our great land, The UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

THE POLITICALLY INCORRECT BLACK AMERICAN HERO

By Cliff Kincaid

February 16, 2009
NewsWithViews.com

February is Black History Month. But Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, who rose from poverty and overcame racism to become a leading black conservative thinker and jurist, wasn’t on the list of famous African Americans that my son brought home from school.

Interestingly, one name that was on the list was Matthew Henson. He may be more politically incorrect than Clarence Thomas.

Black explorer Matthew Henson was the co-discoverer of the North Pole. In fact, he planted the American flag at the Pole in 1909. In recognition of his great achievement, his body was interred at Arlington National Cemetery at the direction of President Ronald Reagan. Henson’s partner on the North Pole mission was U.S. Navy Commander Robert E. Peary.

The Henson/Peary mission has enormous geopolitical significance today, for the obvious reason that access to resources near, around and under the North Pole and other Arctic regions has drawn the interest of America’s rivals and potential enemies. This is more than a museum curiosity and footnote to history. Indeed, Henson’s contribution to black history was a contribution to American history and our future as a world power. But that assumes that our leaders have any desire to maintain that status.

This year—being the 100th anniversary of the Henson mission—is a great opportunity for the media to finally tell his story so that the American people can develop an understanding of this important part of their history and Henson’s significance for our energy future.

At the February 12 NAACP Image Awards ceremony, Stevie Wonder performed his 1976 song “Black Man,” which has lyrics referencing historic figures such as Matthew Henson. Still, Henson was only one figure among many in the song and his role in the North Pole mission is largely unknown to most Americans, black or white.

Turner Network Television did a 1998 movie, entitled “Glory & Honor,” in honor of Henson and Peary, and a U.S. stamp was issued in 1986 in honor of both of them. There is a valuable website devoted to Henson’s life.

Racism can be blamed for some of the lack of recognition of Henson’s North Pole discovery. But there is another reason why his achievement may be ignored in the current atmosphere. American discovery of foreign territories and lands is not something that is celebrated these days, even if the American was black, because it smacks of what the Marxists call “imperialism.”

In the present context, too much attention to Henson’s discovery might get in the way of the push to have the United Nations assume control over tens of billions of dollars worth of oil, gas, and mineral resources in “international waters,” such as those in the North Pole region. Under the U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), which will soon be considered by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, the world body would take control of many of those resources. Nations would get access to them by paying a global tax or fee and getting favorable rulings from international judges. Under UNCLOS, the U.S. and other nation-states would only get immediate access to certain resources within identifiable limits off their coastlines. In those areas, of course, radical environmentalists can already be counted on keep them off-limits to the American people.

Support for UNCLOS reflects the modern tendency to put the fate of nations in the hands of international elites at the U.N. and elsewhere. However, under the legal Doctrine of Discovery, a concept of international law that predates the U.N., the resources in this region belong to the American people, not the world, because Americans discovered them. It’s been impossible to get the U.S. State Department to acknowledge this fact or make this case in international fora.

Despite the politically incorrect nature of the North Pole discovery, media interest and awareness is starting to grow. The southern New Jersey Courier-Post reports on the making of an epoxy bronze statue of Henson that will be displayed at a special ceremony on April 6. This is the actual date, 100 years ago, when Henson planted an American flag at the Pole.

The Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, is currently presenting “Race to the Top: Arctic Inspirations 1909 & Today” through April. A story about the presentation notes that “Henson, a black American whose role in the expedition was disregarded at the time because of his race, shares equal billing with Peary in ‘Race to the Top.’ Some say that if it hadn’t been for Henson, Peary would not have been able to make his famous voyage.”

But the political blindness on this issue is bipartisan and may frustrate a national effort to grasp the truth about Americans being the first to the Pole and therefore having ownership over it.

On the Republican side, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, who has a special interest in energy issues that affect her state, sent a letter to Alaska’s Senators in 2007 endorsing UNCLOS as a means by which Alaska could gain access to Arctic resources. In fact, UNCLOS undermines the rightful and historical claims that Henson and Peary made in the name of the American people and nation. She has failed to respond to detailed letters on the subject, even while launching a political action committee called “SarahPAC” to boost her national political future.

The website devoted to Henson also celebrates the election of Barack Obama as the first black American president. But Obama, like Palin, wants the U.S. Senate to ratify UNCLOS, thus undermining the entire legal basis and findings of the Henson/Peary mission. In fact, Obama campaigned for president on a platform in support of ratifying UNCLOS. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told her Senate confirmation hearing that ratification of the treaty would be a priority. Clinton made that statement to Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski, who also had no clue as to which nation has a legitimate claim to the natural resources surrounding the Pole.

Carl Olson of State Department Watch has written to Governor Palin, urging her to oppose UNCLOS “as being detrimental to the interests of the State of Alaska and the rest of the country.”

Even without the Law of the Sea Treaty, which is also known by the acronym LOST, Olson points out that “the State of Alaska has absolutely no say or standing whatsoever with regard to ocean boundaries or resources. The U.S. Department of State claims 100% authority in these matters for the United States, with no power for states, including advisory and co-equal status.”

However, “Under LOST, the problem gets one step worse with authority thrown over to the unaccountable and opaque United Nations,” he points out.

UNCLOS has been around for decades, but the campaign to ratify it picked up in earnest under the Bush Administration and accelerated when the Russians sent a mini-sub under the Pole in August 2007 and “planted” their flag. The propaganda stunt caused some commentators to say that the U.S. would be cut out of lucrative Arctic resources unless we ratified UNCLOS. The reality of the mission was cast into doubt when it was later revealed that some of the film “footage” of the Russian sub that aired on a Russian government television channel was actually from the Hollywood movie “The Titanic.”

The truth is that a U.S. Navy submarine, the USS Nautilus, was under the Pole about 50 years before the Russians, claiming the region for the United States. In his book, First Under the North Pole, Navy Commander William R. Anderson wrote that as the Nautilus went under the Pole he declared, “for the United States and the United States Navy—the North Pole!” However, on the website of the U.S. Navy Submarine Force Museum, home of the Nautilus, this has been rewritten to be politically correct. Now it has Anderson saying, “For the world, our country, and the Navy—the North Pole.” Notice how “the world” had now become a part owner. That serves the interests of the U.N.

It is a shame that so few people know about the mission of the Nautilus. Even our Navy leaders refuse to acknowledge its nature and significance. Of course, they are under orders to support UNCLOS.

The State Department has exhibited a disturbing tendency to ignore American claims to American resources. State’s argument is that the number of U.S. ships is so low, down from about 600 under Reagan to only 280 today, that we have to rely on the U.N. to safeguard our interests. It would be a controversial move, but Navy leaders could break with the political authorities and embrace the necessary option of building more ships.

If the Senate ratifies the Law of the Sea Treaty, it will be saying that black explorer Matthew Henson’s discovery was of no real significance. The Senate will be saying that while Henson helped discover the North Pole, the fruits of his discovery have to be turned over to the U.N. and the U.S. will have to appease and appeal to international bureaucrats and judges.

What would Matthew Henson think? Based on his life and history, one can only conclude that he would raise the American flag in protest.

HOW OLD IS THE EARTH?

By Bill Sizemore

February 20, 2009
NewsWithViews.com

Many Christians are under the impression that if you believe the Bible, then you must believe that the earth is 6,000 years old. But is this so?

Christians come to the 6,000 year conclusion, not based on something the Bible says about the age of the earth, but by tracking the biblical genealogies from Jesus back to Adam, which add up to about 4,000 years, and then adding in the 2,000 years from Christ until now.

From a biblical perspective, this approach tells us approximately how long man has been around, but as we shall see, it does not necessarily tell us how long the earth has been around.

Modern scientists, on the other hand, generally claim that the earth is more like five billion years old. They dismiss the 6,000 year claim as absurd, believing they have reams of conclusive evidence of a much older planet.

Scientists mock those “ignorant, Bible-thumping, fundamentalist Christians” and their 6,000 year doctrine, while Christians damn those “godless, atheistic, Bible-rejecting scientists,” who claim the earth is five billion years old.

With some trepidation, I toss my two cents into the fire. Here are the questions I will raise and attempt to answer:

(1) Is the real age of a material thing, if it was created supernaturally, what it appears to be? As we will see, the Bible answers this question.
(2) Is it possible to determine the age of any physical thing without first determining whether it was created in time or in eternity?
(3) Were the days of creation, which are described in the first chapter of Genesis, twenty-four hours long, or could they have been much longer?
(4) Is it possible to be truly scientific, if you reject the fact that the earth and its creatures were supernaturally created by God “ex nihilo” or out of nothing?

Let’s begin with this very real possibility: Christians are trying to defend a theory that the Bible may not teach. Biblical evidence for the claim that the earth is only six thousands years old is hardly conclusive.

The Bible opens with the well known passage, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth…” and a little later it says, “and the evening and the morning were the first day.” In this brief passage of scripture we are told simply that God created the world. The passage doesn’t tell us how long God took to do that - only that He did it on the first day of creation, whatever “day” means in this passage.

This description doesn’t tell us whether time existed on day one, when God created the earth, or if time began later. It is at least possible that time did not yet exist. We know from many scriptures that God dwells in eternity, the ever present “now,” which at least makes it possible that “in the beginning” was before the creation of time or what we call the time/space continuum. We do know this about time: Time is a temporary thing and in the last book of the Bible God ends it.

Based on what we see happening later, it is unlikely that the first day of creation was a day as we use that term:

On the very first day of creation, God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. We are not told what the source of that light was. It is important to note that it was not the sun.

Genesis says that on the first day, God separated the light from the darkness and called the light day and the darkness night. There was light on the first day, but there was not yet a sun. God did not make the sun and moon until the fourth day! (See Genesis 1:14-19.)

Let’s step back and look at this for a moment. It is generally believed that Moses wrote the Book of Genesis. Moses lived approximately 2,500 years after Adam was created. That’s a long time later. Obviously, the only thing the author of Genesis could have known about the first day of creation was what God told him.

The author of Genesis, knowing that the sun was not created until the fourth day, wrote that there was light on the first day. He obviously knew when he wrote this that the sun is what lights the day. That fact has been self-evident to all men at all times.

If the author of Genesis was merely making up the creation story and wanted to be credible, he would have said that the sun was created on the first day and provided light for the earth from then on. But he didn’t. He wrote what was he was told to write about the first day, even if he didn’t understand it.

The Bible doesn’t tell us the source of this pre-sun light. The most likely answer is God himself. The Bible teaches that God dwells in unapproachable light. The Bible also teaches that in the heavenly city, the Lamb (Jesus Christ) is the light of the city.

Another question that springs to mind is: If there was no sun on the first day, how do we know how long the first day lasted? For us, a day lasts 24 hours. That fact is based on the time it takes for the earth to rotate one time on its axis facing the sun. A year is based on the amount of time it takes for the earth to orbit the sun one time.

With no sun, there is no basis for knowing how long the first day lasted, or the second or the third. In fact, there is no basis for knowing how long it took God to do any of the things He did before the fourth day of creation. They could have happened instantaneously or gradually. There was no way to measure that.

The sun is the God-ordained instrument for measuring time on the earth. It must therefore be an open question whether time existed before the fourth day of creation. If it existed, there was no basis for measuring it.

Some Christian scholars insist that the days of creation were 24-hour days, because the Hebrew word translated “day” in Genesis 1:5 (before the creation of the sun) is the same Hebrew word used elsewhere in the Old Testament to mean a 24-hour day. This is not a very persuasive argument. Hebrew words are not always precise or specific. The meaning of a Hebrew word is often determined by its context. Also, there are several examples in scripture of the word translated “day” not meaning a 24-hour period.

Now, let’s look at the fourth day of creation. What God says about the reasons He created the sun is instructive.

Genesis 1:14: “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and for years…” The passage goes on to explain that one great light (the sun) would rule over the day and give light upon the earth and a lesser light would rule over the night. Notice that the sun was created on the fourth day, not just to provide light, but also to determine seasons and days and years or one might say, to determine time.

One would logically infer from this passage that if God created the sun to determine days and seasons and years, there was no way to tell days and seasons and years before that. If the sun was created to measure days and years, those days of creation mentioned before the creation of the sun could have been of any length or perhaps of no length at all.

As strange as it sounds, it’s possible that there was no “time” at all before God created the sun. When one is speaking of the great “I AM,” the “Ancient of Days” who dwells in eternity, one could argue either way. After all, time is for us, not for Him.

Now, nothing we have said thus far tells us that the earth is five billion years old, as scientists claim. In fact, even if carbon dating and other methods scientists use for estimating age were sound and reliable, which they are not, those employing those methods still could be entirely wrong in the conclusions they reach. Why? Because the earth may appear to be very old and yet not be. Such is the nature of supernaturally created things.

For example, when God formed the first man, Adam was a full grown adult, not a baby. When Adam was only one hour old, he had a fully formed adult body. That’s the way God made him.

If a doctor had given Adam a thorough examination one hour after God had made him, Adam would have appeared to have been a perfect specimen of a human male of perhaps twenty to twenty-five years of age. Scientific evidence would have informed the doctor of Adam’s age, the doctor would have been fully convinced of that age, but the scientific evidence would have led him to a false conclusion. Adam was still only one hour old.

When Jesus miraculously turned pots of water into wine, as is chronicled in the second chapter of the Gospel of John, the master of the feast concluded after tasting this brand new wine that the host of the feast had broken with tradition and saved the best wine for last.

Now, in order for this newly created wine to have been the best wine, it would have had to have been aged for some time, at least to fermentation. A scientific test of this new wine would have proved conclusively that it was older than it was, perhaps by several years. The tests would have been scientifically correct, but the conclusion reached would have been wrong. The wine was minutes old and yet had the physical characteristics of wine of an older age.

Things that have been created or made supernaturally are not subject to scientific tests to determine their age. Scientists may be able to “prove” to their satisfaction that created things are much older than they really are. However, created things exist simply because God spoke them into existence. No matter how old they may appear to be, their true age cannot be determined.

For this reason, scientists who deny the reality of creation lock themselves into a set of rules that are entirely inapplicable to created things. Their unbelief prevents true scientific enquiry into the nature of created things and makes them susceptible to convoluted, contrived theories.

Furthermore, there are plenty of common sense reasons to call into question science’s five billion year theory. For example, at the current rate of measurable erosion the earth’s mountain ranges would be flat, if the earth were billions of years old. Slowly but steadily, wind, rain, ice, snow, and avalanches are eroding the mountains at a measureable rate that precludes an earth-age in the billions of years.

At the current rate at which the Mississippi River delta is forming, as silt flows down the muddy Mississippi to its mouth at the Gulf of Mexico, the Mississippi delta would reach all the way to Africa, if the earth was five billion years old.

Perhaps you recall when the first spacecraft landed safely on the moon? That first craft was equipped with large, round dishes for feet, so the craft would not sink into the thick lunar dust. Based on the five billion year theory, scientists concluded that the moon must be covered with lunar dust several feet deep.

When the craft landed, however, it was discovered that there was only a thin layer of dust, perhaps a few thousand years worth. This discovery flatly contradicted the five billion year theory upon which the craft had been designed.

Consider this: Modern scientists claim that dinosaurs walked the earth hundreds of millions of years ago, long before the first man. They state with “authority” that such and such a dinosaur lived at such and such a time in some far distant age. This may come as news to you, but credible archaeological evidence seriously undermines this widely accepted theory.

Modern man began discovering and identifying fossil remains of the major dinosaurs only two or three hundred years ago. Early paleontologists immediately began naming and cataloging these “terrible lizards.” They also created drawings of the various dinosaurs, guessing what they looked like based on their bone structure.

However, there are serious problems with the estimated age of dinosaur fossils.

There exist many examples across the world of 1,000 to 3,000 year old cave drawings, tapestries, and ornate stone engravings depicting scenes of dinosaurs and humans together. These artifacts predate modern man’s discovery of dinosaur fossils by thousands of years and yet show unmistakable depictions of many of the dinosaurs we know today, including stegosaurus, brontosaurus, triceratops, and tyrannosaurus rex.

The older drawings depict living creatures almost identical to those in the modern artwork, which is based on fossil remains. Some of these ancient artifacts show men fighting dinosaurs and even men being eaten by dinosaurs.

Also, the Book of Job, believed to be the oldest book in the Bible, contains a detailed, rather fascinating description of a living creature that appears to be a very large dinosaur. The description is not presented in Job as mythical or fictitious, but as that of a real, living creature.

As for the enormous size of some dinosaur fossils, consider this: In the days prior to the Flood of Noah, we are told that several men lived to be more than 900 years old. If we apply that same kind of lifespan to reptiles, imagine how large and heavy some of those predeluvian creatures would have been. Unlike mammals, reptiles continue to grow during their entire lifespan.

You probably didn’t see this on a major television network, but in 2005 a fossilized bone of a T-rex was discovered to have soft tissue still inside it. This shocking discovery challenges everything scientists thought they knew about the age of dinosaur fossils. The finding of real soft tissue from a real dinosaur clearly suggests the T-rex bone was not nearly as old as formerly believed.

There is even a fossilized footprint of a human with a dinosaur footprint on top of the man’s print, clearly demonstrating that at some time in history a dinosaur stepped on a man’s footprint.

More often than not, modern scientists knowingly place themselves at odds with what the Bible says about the origins of the earth and the beginnings of life. Rather than exploring God’s creation to unlock the mysteries He has hidden there, as scientific pioneers such as Sir Isaac Newton did a few hundred years ago, scientists today often interpret the data they gather so as to disprove obvious realities about God, realities that the Bible says are “clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made.” Creation displays the awesome power of God as well as His infinite intelligence and creativity. Creation is the starting point of all true science.

In Summary, there is probably no way to know the age of the earth. As we have seen, there are plenty of reasons to doubt the five billion year theory. If dinosaurs and man walked the earth at the same time, as credible evidence suggests, then everything science tells us about geological ages collapses.

Along this same line, certain sciences routinely employ a type of circular logic to prove questionable points, such as basing the age of geological layers on the fossils found in those layers and basing the age of fossils on the geological layers in which they are found, which taken as a whole proves absolutely nothing.

On the other hand, the so-called Christian theory that the earth is only 6,000 years old seems unnecessarily restrictive. I would accept the 6,000 year doctrine in a heartbeat, if the Bible taught it, but I don’t think it does. If the sun, which God created to measure years and days, was not created until the fourth day of creation, then the actual length of the earlier days of creation is simply not known, which tells us the earth could be older than 6,000 years, perhaps by a lot.

And if God created the earth in eternity and not in time, and if time itself did not begin until the sun was created on the fourth day, then all discussion of age prior to that time is meaningless.

Also, as if to throw a curve ball into the entire discussion, the Apostle Peter wrote almost two thousand years ago that a day with God is as a thousand years and a thousand years are as one day. If the apostle meant that literally, those days of creation could have lasted a thousand years each, making the earth more like twelve thousand years old. If on the other hand, the Apostle used “a thousand years” simply to mean “a great quantity,” which is often the case in scripture, then the question remains wide open.

Frankly, I don’t lose sleep over the age of the earth. It’s an interesting topic for discussion, but what God demands of us regarding the earth is that we acknowledge that this planet and all its living creatures were brought into existence by Him, by his spoken Word. Those who reject that fundamental truth, no matter what title or degree they hold, are not really scientists at all.

WHY THE UN IS WORTHLESS TO HUMAN EXISTENCE

By Tom DeWeese
February 18, 2009
NewsWithViews.com

Africa has more natural resources than the United States. Yet its people wallow in poverty and a horrible existence, not because the land doesn’t provide for them, but because of bad governments.

Case in point is Zimbabwe which, by all accounts, should be the richest of all African nations. It was once called the breadbasket of Africa because of its rich soil and prosperous farmers. Today, under the brutal, unending dictatorship of insane ruler Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe sits in ruins. As The Washington Times reported, “People are starving and compete in the countryside with baboons, jackals and goats for roots and wild fruits; health care has imploded and cholera is on the march as water and sewer systems collapse.”

Why the collapse of this once wonderful country? Robert Mugabe. He hates whites, wants them out of the country, and so has literally stolen their land – mostly the once-rich farms. Then he gave the farms to his cronies or to just poor people living on the street. Most of these people had never even seen a farm, let alone worked one. The result was certainly predictable -- instant starvation. Mugabe maintains power through a gang of thugs which roam the streets and savagely beat and murder anyone who dares stand in opposition.

In spite of that, Mugabe has a strong, organized opposition that has bravely struck back, forcing elections and even winning them to throw out Mugabe. Twice. But he refuses to go. He just ignores the election results. In desperation, the opposition then tried to force at least a coalition government, allowing both Mugabe and opposition leaders to run the government. That lasted a couple of minutes. Mugabe made clear his position on the collation government when he said, “This thing called democracy is a problem. It’s a difficult proposition because always the opposition will want much more than what it deserves.”

The world has rightfully vilified the corrupt and brutal regimes in North Korea and Iran. The UN has condemned the genocide in Darfur and rung its collective hands over the fighting in the Gaza Strip. The UN has even sent agents to the United States to investigate our legal system and look for human rights violations.

But what of the tragedy in Zimbabwe? What of the brutal rule of Mugabe? Is he considered an international outlaw? Has the UN sent out a call for troops? Is there an international movement to have him removed from office? Has the UN Security Council met to demand action? Is there an international outrage aimed at Mugabe, as there was against the white Apartheid government of South Africa? Sanctions? Blockades? Protest songs by Bono? Anything? No.

Mugabe did speak at the UN’s Sustainable Development Conference in South Africa a few years ago. The 15-nation South African Development Community continues to deal with Mugabe. The South African government continues to “mediate” with him as he ignores the will of his own people and stays in office. Mugabe simply told the Associated Press, “Zimbabwe is mine.” Apparently that’s OK with the UN and the international community.

Meanwhile, rather than divert attention to Zimbabwe and its petty problems, the UN knows it’s much more interesting to get back to the investigations against human rights violations in the United States. There’s so much more wealth to plunder here.

GIVING OBAMA A CHANCE

By Selwyn Duke
February 19, 2009
NewsWithViews.com

Being a cerebral sort, when I ponder President Obama’s seduction of America, I think of the story of the snake and the duck. To be brief, the snake wants the duck to take him to the other side of a creek, but the duck is reluctant. He says, “But when we get there, you’ll bite me.” The snake is very persuasive, however, and convinces the duck he wouldn’t do such a thing. He just wants help and would have the utmost appreciation. Well, I think you know what happened upon concluding their little crossing. Bam! The snake bit the foolish bird, who then started stammering, “Bu-bu-bu-but you said . . . .” The snake just replied, “Hey, you knew what I was when you picked me up.” I suppose the duck just wanted to give the serpent a chance.

That certainly is what many want us to give Barack Obama. Criticize the president and you’re admonished for being unfair and partisan. “Give the man a chance!” hiss the critics. Or is it that they quack? Whatever.

I could be snide and just say that I’ll give the president every bit the chance the left gave George Bush. With him they certainly did hiss, and spew venom, attacking him viciously and relentlessly for eight years starting with the oath of office. The man could do nothing right in their eyes, even when spending like any liberal Democrat, even when supporting amnesty for illegals, even when lavishing tax money on Africa, even when signing the prescription drug benefit. He was a “fundamentalist,” a “right-wing zealot” and wholly incapable of even one good intention. That is the irrationality of the prejudiced, of people who see a red-state politician and only see red.

But I won’t take that leaf out of the left’s book. I’m not a child and don’t play tit-for-tat. If Obama is right about something, I’ll acknowledge it and just chalk it up to the inevitable twice-per-diem correctness of a broken clock. What I also won’t do, however, is “give Obama a chance.” I’ll explain why with a couple of analogies.

Imagine there is a businessman who manages a small fast-food restaurant in Illinois. His record is one of virtually always embracing the wrong policies and making bad decisions. Nevertheless, he is offered a position overseeing operations on a statewide level, wherein he once again pursues the same bad policies and makes the same bad decisions. Will you now propose making him the CEO of the company?

Or, let’s say there is a lawyer with a small practice, oh, as it happens, also in Illinois. He continually commits misfeasance but nevertheless is appointed state attorney general. He then continues to commit misfeasance. Will you next consider making him Attorney General of the United States? If not, why not? Sure, he never demonstrated competence in law before, but, come on, U.S. Attorney General is a different position. Give ‘im a chance.

Maybe even ducks get the point.

There is an old saying, “Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.” Contrary to the Republican campaign mantra about Obama having no experience, quite the opposite was true. He had tremendous experience doing the wrong thing, more than enough to paint a picture of what kind of animal he might be. The picture may seem like a resplendent deity to followers or a repugnant demon to foes, but it existed. And if you didn’t see it, it wasn’t because Obama hadn’t done enough but because you didn’t know enough.

In reality, Obama has had chance after chance after chance after chance, in the Illinois and U.S. senates and as a community agita . . . uh, I mean, organizer. If you don’t believe me, simply peruse the section dedicated to him at OntheIssues.org. It provides 37 pages and more than 14,000 words on his votes, positions and pronouncements, all compiled prior to the election. And, largely drawing from that site, here is a synopsis of Obama the Chanceless’ words and deeds (every quotation except indicated by “*” is from OntheIssues.org):

• He voted for illegal-alien amnesty, “YES on allowing illegal aliens to participate in Social Security” and “YES on continuing federal funds for declared ‘sanctuary cities.’”
• He said that his policies would bankrupt the coal industry.
• He said, “*You need to make sure your child can speak Spanish” and that it’s “OK to provide government services in Spanish.” He also “voted NO on declaring English as the official language of the US government.”
• He opposes so-called “racial profiling,” which is actually just an element of proper, comprehensive profiling.
• He received an 89 percent rating from the NAACP, “indicating that he supports affirmative action.”
• In the Illinois and national senates, Obama was Planned Parenthood’s poster boy, supporting the murder of not just the unborn but also the born, through his opposition to the Born Alive Infants Protection Act.
• He voted against prohibiting minors from crossing state lines for abortion and notifying parents of minors who get out-of-state abortions.
• He has the worst possible rating – 0 percent – by the National Right to Life Committee.
• He opposed school vouchers.
• He voted YES on factoring mythical anthropogenic global warming into federal project planning.
• He has supported “age-appropriate” sex education for kindergartners, as if there is such a thing.
• While Obama has said he doesn’t believe in faux marriage, he opposed California’s Proposition 8, the one-man-one-woman marriage amendment, and voted against the constitutional ban on faux marriage.
• He called homosexuality “no more immoral than heterosexuality” and said it’s “Ok to expose 6-year-olds to gay couples.”
• He “cast 130 ‘present’ votes in Il. Senate,” indicating an unwillingness to step up to the plate.
• He “sponsored resolution rejecting photo ID for voting.”
• He endorsed an Illinois handgun ban, advocated banning semi-automatics (weapons firing one shot every time the trigger is pulled), and voted against prohibiting the frivolous lawsuits designed to destroy gun manufacturers.
• He supports nationalized medicine, and said that he wanted to insure the 47 million people without health insurance, a figure that includes illegal aliens.

All this, not to mention his associations with raving racist Reverend Wright, avowed “small-c communist” and ex-Weathermen bomber Bill Ayers, Tony Rezko and the socialist New Party of Chicago.

For you leftists who would go off half-cocked and defend the above, save your breath. My goal isn’t to convince you to change your ideology. That is impossible. You can agree with Obama, you can disagree with him, but the point is that when viewing his record in its totality, no rational person will conclude that the few missing pieces in the change-unity-hope jigsaw puzzle prevent us from perceiving the big picture. An editor may not know my feelings on blueberry cupcakes or Allen wrenches, but, if he scours my work, he will find enough relevant information to know whether or not I’m suited to his publication. Likewise, those of us with ears to hear and eyes to see know what Obama is. We’re not ducks.

Of course, to some, the give-‘im-a-chance plea is a ploy, a political artifice used by snakes to silence critics. But these folks really aren’t all that interesting. The ducks are more so, as what often drives them is man’s lamentable propensity for rationalization.

Generally speaking, people have trouble facing hard truths; they live with many fears and want to believe the sun will come out tomorrow. They want to hope that Obama will really be that moderate, really be that liberal Utopian of their dreams, really be a pragmatist when push comes to shove, really make things better after all. Thus, what many are actually saying is, “Give my hope a chance! How dare you crush my dreams well before dawn! Do not deny me my a few months of delusion.” The problem is that this doesn’t work for those of us who prefer to stare reality straight in the face. We know that, as a book title says, “Hope is not a strategy.” Moreover, what you call giving Obama his (umpteenth) chance, we call driving the last nail into America’s coffin.

Whatever the ducks’ motivation, what they essentially suggest is comical. To wit: “A doctor who committed malpractice when operating on your toe, hand, leg and stomach should be allowed to operate on your brain because, by gum, he hasn’t had a chance to work above the neck yet.” Well, what can I say? If you would make such a decision, it probably couldn’t do any harm, anyway. But the problem is that these owners of misfiring neurons have given Obama the chance to take the scalpel to the whole nation. And while I accept that people get the government they deserve, the problem is that I’m going to get the government they deserve.

The issue is not that Obama isn’t being given a chance; it’s that he has been given too many. But this is a persistent problem in our nation; in fact, we live in a second-chance society. Children are given too many chances to misbehave. Miscreants are given too many chances to commit crime. And, worst of all, the ducks are given too many chances to vote.

And the end result is that America just may have run out of chances.

HELP - I'M RUNNING OUT OF REASONS TO WRITE

By Paul Proctor
February 18, 2009
NewsWithViews.com

I seem to go through this about once a year now where I stop and reassess my reasons for writing. You see, I hate to waste someone’s time – especially my own. Because of this, I have an aversion to redundancy and stating the obvious – something frankly, anyone can do – not that I haven’t, on occasion.

And, let’s face it: The only reward that comes from this endeavor is in helping those who are concerned, confused and looking for real answers to unexplained conflicts and crises in life that are biblically explainable with a working knowledge of scripture – scripture that is increasingly ignored by those who stand before us as leaders, examples and role models.

Over much of the last decade, I have written this column for the sole purpose of warning the unsuspecting about coming changes in this country that could adversely affect lives. I saw it as a duty – a calling, if you will – one that many others like me have answered in similar fashion.

It was certainly not my life’s ambition to become a writer or columnist. I was a musician by trade – not necessarily a very good one, but enough of one to consistently put food on my table and avoid government assistance, which seems to have become quite fashionable of late.

However, under the Lord’s leading, provision and guidance, I set aside a career in music years ago to do something I saw as vastly more important: warning people of impending danger – severe changes they might not otherwise be privy to because of life’s many distractions and distortions of truth and information. I just couldn’t, in good conscience, sit by and fiddle while Rome burned. With this as a backdrop, I could also present the Gospel.

But, frankly, I’m beginning to wonder what’s the point anymore – not in presenting the Good News of Jesus Christ and calling on sinners to repentance and faith in Him – but in stating the obvious week after week about our nation’s decline.

I spent the first few months and years as a columnist warning about socialism coming to America – and that it was a two-party problem – not just something being embraced and promoted by the left.

Then I saw it in my own “conservative” pastor’s pulpit back in the late 90s and how churches around the country had been infiltrated, compromised and corrupted by the same narcissistic value system through church growth programs where, like the public school system, edification had given way to entertainment and self-restraint to self-esteem.

Then it was the economy, the doomed stock market and all that debt we were taking on with a fiat currency. What is there left to say about it now that most don’t already know? It’s all over the news!

Then it was the mainstream media lying to us from the left and then from the right. Now, newspaper subscriptions are all plummeting because few people read or believe them anymore – others just don’t care – and the remaining that do, already know what’s coming down the pike.

Television has become so silly, superficial, sadistic, sarcastic, self-indulgent, socialistic and sex-saturated, that it’s almost unwatchable. No warning needed there. Forget the network news. Only fools believe what they present each day as factual.

Now we have the so-called “Fairness Doctrine” to face, where many conservative writers and talk-show hosts fear being silenced by liberals in search of an audience. But, with both Christians and conservatives now embracing the left’s own principles and practices, why warn anybody about that?

So, I hope you will forgive me for being a little self-indulgent myself this week as I, once again, consider where to go from here. I guess I’m just thinking out loud.

But, most of all, I hope you will pray for me, that whatever direction I take in the coming year, above all else, it would be the Lord’s will, because I’m still persuaded that nothing else really matters.

FEAR, PRIDE AND GREED

By Coach Dave Daubenmire
February 19, 2009
NewsWithViews.com

I have just returned from a ten day speaking tour of the state of Missouri. For the past few years a group of us have been offering our services to churches around America who are willing to pull their head’s out of the sand and take a good, hard look at what is really going on in America.

I could tell you that we are speaking to overflow crowds and that America is being turned upside down by the truth that we are sharing, but that would be as phony as the “stimulus package.” We are faithful to go, but sometimes have a hard time finding a church willing to open the doors to us.

This “Shake The Nation” tour was no exception. I know that this may sound arrogant but the Gospel-Truth that our “traveling-road show” delivers is something that every Christian needs to hear. We present the Biblical perspective on the schools, our Constitution, the condition of the American Church, abortion, communism, the homosexual agenda, the 501 C 3 muzzle, and a general overview of a Christian Worldview.

Invariably, we will find a courageous pastor who is more committed to building his people than he is to building a church, who opens his doors and welcomes us in. God bless those faithful men of God, many who are un-paid pastors, who understand their charge to be “watchmen on the wall.”

During last week’s tour, as five of us squeezed into a van and traveled nearly 300 miles between Friday night in Branson and Saturday evening in St. Louis, I bemoaned the fact that none of the larger churches would have us in. But we fight the fact that most pastors more resemble gate-keepers than they do watchmen. They do all they can to shield themselves, and their congregations, from the reality of the world outside their stained-glassed fortresses, and their obligation to defend the faith.

“What is up with the pastors?” one of our group wondered out loud. “What is the reason that they won’t get involved?”

Dr. Gregory Thompson, the leader of our pack, never batted an eye as he turned from the front passenger seat and answered, “There are three reasons….fear, pride, and greed.”

I don’t know if anyone has so squarely hit the nail on the head.

Our group comes for free. All we ask is that the churches take an offering to try and meet our expenses. We sleep on couches, share beds, or on the floor in a sleeping bag, and we are fed by volunteer families in each location. It costs a church a heck of a lot less than a marriage seminar, a financial freedom conference, or a celebrity speaker that teaches ten ways to make ten-thousand dollars in ten weeks. Soft Christian-sounding programs are all the rage. The feel-good gospel always packs them in.

But our message is different. We inform the flock, present a challenge, and demand a response. In a church-community that thrives off of spiritual welfare, the idea that our Faith requires a Christian to do that with which he is uncomfortable is almost unthinkable. After all, Jesus came to serve us, don’t you know? Most Christians are more likely to be stricken by bed-sores from the padded pews than they are from the attacks of the enemy.

Our pastors are to blame. Dr. Thompson is right. They are paralyzed by the Devil’s trinity of fear, pride and greed. Professional Christians are selling out this nation.

Most pastors are cowards. At a time when the “faith of our Fathers” has never been under more of an attack, they are missing in action. When America is crying for bold, courageous leadership our pulpits are filled with meek men who preach weak in-offensive messages. They fear the flock, the government, bold men, and public opinion. They are content to allow their people to perish because of their fear of speaking the truth.

How else can you explain their silence in the face of the thievery taking place in Washington?

Or perhaps it is their pride. The idea that a hearty band of “Christian Activists” could teach Dr. Know It All something regarding “the Faith” is almost insulting. After all, he spent years in seminary, read thousands of commentaries on the Scriptures and has “built a church” attended by thousands of uninformed sheep. What could this group of “zealots” possibly teach him about herding sheep? And how would he explain it to the other CEO’s at the local “ministerial association?”

Meanwhile, the sheep are perishing as the shepherd slumbers.

But it is probably their greed that encumbers them the most.

Have you watched the Trinity Broadcasting Network lately? When was the last time you saw a Christian leader on that program speak out against the un-Godly actions of our “ministers of God” in the District of Criminals? When was the last time you heard them speak out about the slaughter of innocent pre-born children? Have you ever heard them encourage anyone to civic action to stop the injustice? Why rile-up the sheep? Just keep them happy and hoping.

No man can serve two masters and “butts and bucks” are what drives most ministries. Heaven forbid they would do anything to risk their tax-exemption or offend the fat-cat donor after whom the new “ministry center” will be built.

The Christian soldiers are in retreat because the Christian army is a headless-horseman. We are an infantry without generals, and those who should be leading resent those who want to. This has happened before.

“When Adolf Hitler came to power in Germany in 1933, he scornfully dismissed the Church and her pastors as an irrelevant force which posed no threat to the Nazi agenda for that great nation.

‘I promise you,’ he boasted to his inner circle, ‘that if I wish to, I could destroy the Church in just a few years. It is hollow, it is rotten and false through and through. One push, and the whole structure would collapse. We should trap the preachers,’ he said, ‘by their notorious greed and self-indulgence. We shall thus be able to settle everything with them in perfect peace and harmony. I shall give them a few years’ reprieve. Why should we quarrel? They will swallow anything in order to keep their material advantage. The parsons will be made to dig their own graves; they will betray their God for us. They will betray anything for the sake of their miserable jobs and incomes.’”

It was only sixty years ago that Hitler rose to power in Germany. He did so with the blessings of the clergy. I, for one, do not want to wait for our leaders to lead. A brief study of history will show where we will end up.

In the winter of 1943, a group of university students in Munich, calling themselves The White Rose, began a desperate effort to awaken the young people of that nation to the malignant evil that had engulfed their country. Led by a 25-year old student named Hans Scholl, they distributed leaflets across the campus in a doomed effort to provoke resistance to the Hitler regime. Six leaflets were written. Number Four in the series included this desperate plea, a plea which could have been written today, and a plea which could have been addressed to us. Scholl wrote,

“Everywhere, at all times of greatest trial, men have appeared, prophets and saints, who cherished their freedom, who preached the one God and who with His help brought the people to a reversal of their downward course. I ask you now, as a Christian, wrestling for the preservation of your greatest treasure: Why do you hesitate? Why are you inclined toward intrigue, calculation and procrastination? Are you hoping that someone else will raise his arm in your defense? God has given you the strength! God has given you the will to fight! We must attack the evil now, where it is strongest!”

Pastor Martin Niemöller was one of the brave Christians who stood against the Nazis. It cost him his life. The morning after he was arrested a Chaplain making his rounds found Niemöllar sitting behind bars. "My brother!" he exclaimed. “What did you do? Why are you here?” Niemöller, never at a loss for words, immediately reacted. “My brother, given what’s happened in our country, why aren't you here?”

This nation is in crisis as our Christian leadership worship an un-holy trinity of fear, pride, and greed.
IS THIS PRESIDENT NUTS OR WHAT: NATIONAL SUICIDE IMMINENT

Last year, George Bush by executive order started the importation of 1,000 Sunni and Shia Muslims into the USA every month. Consequently, we imported 12,000 Iraqi refugees. Those same refugees have fought and killed one another in Iraq for the last 1,000 years. That same executive order jumped those import numbers to 19,000 refugees in 2009.

In the past week, President Barack Obama signed another $20.3 million bill to import Palestinians from war-torn Palestine. It might be appreciated that Muslims loathe Jews as a cultural paradigm.

What can go wrong when we allow hundreds of thousands of people who have been, as Mark Steyn said, "marinated" in a "sick death cult," who voted for Hamas, and 55 percent of whom support suicide bombings live here and at the American taxpayers' expense."

Obama signed the "presidential determination" which allows hundreds of thousands of Palestinians with ties to Hamas to resettle in the United States on January 27, 2009 and appeared in the Federal Register on February 4, 2009.

Capitol Hill gave zero attention to an order that provides a free ticket supplements with housing and food allowances to individuals who have displayed their overwhelming support of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the parliamentary election of January 2006.

Already, we import 100,000 legal immigrants every 30 days. We tolerate 100,000 illegal criminal aliens every 30 days into America whereby we pay $346 billion annually (Source; Edwin Rubenstein, National Research Center thesocialcontract.com) for their transport, housing, food, spending money, transportation, medical and educational costs.

But to import violently angry Shia and Sunni refugees along with Hamas suicide bombers from Gaza illustrates how totally bizarre and out of touch Obama proves in his actions—along with a somnolent Congress.

We will not survive the coming ethnic conflict in our country. We will fall and crack into more pieces than Humpty Dumpty. The coming race riots will make Rodney King and Watts look like first grade garden parties.

Please refer once again to a prophetic speech by Colorado Governor Lamm, "How to Destroy America":

"We could make the United States another 'Hispanic Quebec' without much effort. The key is to celebrate diversity rather than unity. As Benjamin Schwarz said in the Atlantic Monthly: "The apparent success of our own multi-ethnic and multi-cultural experiment might have been achieved not by tolerance but by hegemony. Without the dominance that once dictated ethnocentrically and what it meant to be an American, we are left with only tolerance and pluralism to hold us together."

Two weeks before the Federation of American Immigration Reform Conference, Muslim students at San Francisco State University charged a student-run Republican voting table. They knocked it over and threatened to blow up the place. One Muslim woman vowed to become a bomber martyr. They did not respect our Republican form of government where each of us is afforded our rights to free speech. Ironically, these are American Muslim student citizens. Apparently, they didn't realize that they live in America.

Fox News journalist Joshua Rhett Miller reported last week, "Muzzammil Hassan, right, founder of Bridges TV, was charged with murder in the beheading of his wife, Aasiya Hassan, left, in Orchard Park, N.Y.

"The estranged wife of a Muslim television executive feared for her life after filing for divorce last month from her abusive husband, her attorney said" and was found beheaded Thursday in his upstate New York television studio.

"Aasiya Z. Hassan, 37, was found dead on Thursday at the offices of Bridges TV in Orchard Park, N.Y., near Buffalo. Her husband, Muzzammil Hassan, 44, has reportedly been charged with second-degree murder."

"She was very much aware of the potential ramification of her filing for divorce might have," said attorney Elizabeth DiPirro, whose law firm, Hogan Willig, represented Aasiya Hassan in the divorce proceeding. "But she wanted to proceed despite the potential for it to erupt."

"DiPirro said the couple had "physical confrontations off and on" for their entire eight-year marriage that had recently escalated to death threats. The grounds for divorce were "cruel and inhuman treatment," DiPirro said, referring to multiple prior incidents of abuse. She declined to elaborate.

"We were worried about the situation becoming volatile," DiPirro said.

It might be noted that Mr. Hassan attempted to show the softer, gentler side of Islam to U.S. audiences. However, it appears his passion got the best of him. Under Sharia Law, he would not be charged. Hassan represents dozens of "Honor Killings" in the USA in the last few years as Islamic immigrants gain greater numbers.

Lamm continued, "I would encourage all immigrants to keep their own language and culture. I would replace the melting pot metaphor with the salad bowl metaphor. It is important to ensure that we have various cultural sub-groups living in America reinforcing their differences rather than as Americans, emphasizing their similarities."

"Fourth, I would make our fastest growing demographic group the least educated. I would add a second underclass, unassimilated, undereducated and antagonistic to our population. I would have this second underclass have a 50 percent dropout rate from high school."

"My sixth plan for America's downfall would include dual citizenship and promote divided loyalties. I would celebrate diversity over unity. I would stress differences rather than similarities. Diverse people worldwide are mostly engaged in hating each other—that is, when they are not killing each other. A diverse, peaceful or stable society is against most historical precedent. People undervalue the unity it takes to keep a nation together. Look at the ancient Greeks: "The Greeks believed that they belonged to the same race; they possessed a common language and literature; and they worshipped the same gods. All Greece took part in the Olympic Games."

Lamm continued, "Next to last, I would place all subjects off limits—make it taboo to talk about anything against the cult of 'diversity'. I would find a word similar to 'heretic' in the 16th century—that stopped discussion and paralyzed thinking. Words like 'racist' or 'xenophobe' halt discussion and debate."

With this latest executive order, America stands in the cross hairs of its own beheading brought on by its own presidents and blatantly thick Congress.

AND THE BEAT GOES ON...

By Lynn Stuter

February 17, 2009
NewsWithViews.com

On September 22, 2008, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Also Known As (AKA) Obama stated,

These are the types of reform I will pursue beginning on my very first day in office as President of the United States – political reform, government reform, and regulatory reform.

First, I’ll reform our special interest-driven politics. When I am President, I will start by closing the revolving door in the White House that has allowed people to use their Administration job as a stepping stone to further their lobbying careers.

I’ll make it absolutely clear that working in an Obama Administration is not about serving your former employer, your future employer, or your bank account – it’s about serving your country. When you walk into my administration, you will not be able to work on regulations or contracts directly related to your former employer for two years. And when you leave, you will not be able to lobby my Administration – ever. I will also institute an absolute gift ban so that no registered lobbyist can curry favor with members of my administration based on how much they can spend on a fancy dinner.

I’ll make our government open and transparent so that anyone can ensure that our business is the people’s business. As Justice Louis Brandeis once said, sunlight is the greatest disinfectant. As President, I will make it impossible for Congressmen or lobbyists to slip pork-barrel projects or corporate welfare into laws when no one is looking because when I am president, meetings where laws are written will be more open to the public. No more secrecy.

When there is a bill that ends up on my desk as President, you will have five days to look online and find out what’s in it before I sign it. When there are meetings between lobbyists and a government agency, we will put as many as possible online for every American to watch. When there is a tax bill being debated in Congress, you will know the names of the corporations that would benefit and how much money they would get. And we will put every corporate tax break and every pork-barrel project online for every American to see. You will know who asked for them and you can cast your vote accordingly.

Fast forward to January 26, 2009 and H.R. 1, otherwise known as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, a/k/a, the infamous “stimulus package”, dubbed the Porkulus Package by radio talk show commentator and AKA critic, Rush Limbaugh, who it seems, is a deeply embedded thorn in AKA’s side. So much so that AKA recently admonished Republicans that they should ignore Limbaugh if they intended to “get along” with him. Oh, my, my, but aren’t we full of ourselves! Must be that narcissism showing.

The “Stimulus” act was introduced on January 26, 2009 by Representative David Obey (D-WI) with nine co-sponsors: Barney Frank (D-MA), George Miller (D-CA), Charles Rangel (D-NY), Edolphus Towns (D-NY), Henry Waxman (D-CA), Bart Gordon (D-TN), James Oberstar (D-MN), John Spratt, Jr (D-SC), and Nydia Valazquez (D-NY).

Two days later it passed the House, 244 Democrats voting “yea,” 11 Democrats and 177 Republicans voting “nay.”

On February 10, 2009, it passed the Senate with 57 Democrats, 3 Republicans (Collins, Snow, Specter), and 1 Independent (Lieberman) voting “yea” and 37 Republicans voting “nay.”

The bill then went to conference, emerging as a joint-conference bill on February 12, 2009.

On February 13, 2009, the conference bill passed the House with 246 Democrats voting “yea,” 7 Democrats and 176 Republicans voting “nay.”

On the same date, the conference bill passed the Senate with 57 Democrats, 3 Republicans (Collins, Snow, Specter) and 1 Independent (Lieberman) voting “yea” and 38 Republicans voting “nay.”

AKA is expected to sign the bill on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 in Denver, Colorado.

Dubbed by AKA and Congressional Democrats as a stimulus package, H.R. 1 is the largest pork barrel spending law ever passed. As introduced, the bill was 647 pages. It emerged from passing the House and Senate as 1400 pages of bill that remained, for the most part, unread by Democrats and Republicans alike. The conference bill, as passed, is close to 1100 pages of pork-barrel spending. Here is some of the pork barrel courtesy of Jeff Bennett, Federal Observer:

$2 billion earmark to re-start FutureGen, a near-zero emissions coal power plant in Illinois that the Dept. of Energy defunded last year because the project was inefficient
A $246 million tax break for Hollywood movie producers to buy motion picture film
$650 million for the digital television (DTV) converter box coupon program
$88 million for the Coast Guard to design a new polar icebreaker (arctic ship)
$448 million for constructing the Dept. of Homeland Security headquarters
$248 million for furniture at the new Dept. of Homeland Security headquarters
$600 million to buy hybrid vehicles for federal employees
$400 million for the CDC to screen and prevent STD’s
$1.4 billion for rural waste disposal programs
$150 million for Smithsonian museum facilities
$1 billion for the 2010 Census, which has a projected cost overrun of $3 billion
$75 million for “smoking cessation activities”
$200 million for public computer centers at community colleges
$75 million for salaries of employees at the FBI
$25 million for tribal alcohol and substance abuse reduction
$10 million to inspect canals in urban areas
$6 billion to turn federal buildings into “green” buildings
$500 million for state and local fire stations
$650 million for wildland fire management on Forest Service lands
$150 million for Smithsonian museum facilities
$1.2 billion for “youth activities,” including youth summer job programs
$88 million for renovating the headquarters of the Public Health Service
$412 million for CDC buildings and property
$500 million for building and repairing NIH facilities in Bethesda, MD
$160 million for “paid volunteers” at the Corporation for National and Community Service
$5.5 million for “energy efficiency initiatives” at the VA “National Cemetery Administration”
$850 million for Amtrak
$100 million for reducing the hazard of lead-based paint
$75M to construct a new “security training” facility for State Dept Security officers when they can be trained at existing facilities of other agencies.
$110 million to the Farm Service Agency to upgrade computer systems
$200 million in funding for the lease of alternative energy vehicles for use on military installations.
State Medicaid Bailout: $87.7 billion Through 3 different mechanisms, the bill would provide additional federal funds to state Medicaid programs over the next 3 years. This is nearly $70 billion more than the governors asked President Obama for in December, and should be a loan to be repaid by the states.
And, as Mr. Bennett graciously concedes, that isn't all!

In the mix is a $1 billion allocation, under “Community Planning and Development” for community development block grants (CDBG). Liberal groups like La Raza and ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) are eligible for these funds. Another $10.7 billion is allocated to public housing, all or part of which fund allocations ACORN is also eligible to receive. This is beyond the $17.2 million in federal grants received by ACORN from HUD in December 2008, and the $2 million that Jeff Poor, Business and Media Institute, reported that ACORN received from Bank of America after it was bailed out by the taxpayers!

ACORN is currently under federal investigation for voter fraud! They are also a group with whom AKA has known association, both as a lawyer and an activist! Should we be surprised?

Here’s more pork:

$7.2 billion for Broadband to increase broadband access and usage in unserved and underserved areas of the Nation, which will better position the U.S. for economic growth, innovation, and job creation.
$1 billion total for NASA.
$3 billion total for National Science Foundation (NSF).
$2 billion total for Science at the Department of Energy including $400 million for the Advanced Research Projects Agency—Energy (ARPA-E).
$830 million total for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA).
$13 billion for Title 1 to help close the achievement gap and enable disadvantaged students to reach their potential.
$12.2 billion for Special Education/IDEA to improve educational outcomes for disabled children. This level of funding will increase the Federal share of special education services to its highest level ever.
$15.6 billion to increase the maximum Pell Grant by $500. This aid will help 7 million students pursue postsecondary education.
$53.6 billion for the State Fiscal Stabilization Fund, including $39.5 billion to local school districts using existing funding formulas, which can be used for preventing cutbacks, preventing layoffs, school modernization, or other purposes; $5 billion to states as bonus grants for meeting key performance measures in education; and $8.8 billion to states for high priority needs such as public safety and other critical services, which may include education and for modernization, renovation and repairs of public school facilities and institutions of higher education facilities.
H.R. 1 was touted as a job creation bill. Only problem is, no one seems to know how many, if any, jobs will be created; and if those jobs are created, who will benefit.

What the government has done here is to grant themselves a loan, the money for which loan, debt service, and money to pay for the resulting government growth will come out of the already depressed economy. The total cost of the loan? Try $4.06 trillion over the next decade, broken down as follows: $789 billion for the loan, $744 billion in debt service on the loan, and $2.527 trillion in increased spending from new and expanded programs created by the bill. These figures come from the Congressional Budget Office.

Who will pay for that loan in its entirety and the resulting growth in government? It won’t be the government; it will be the American taxpayers.

The only way to stimulate the economy is to do the exact opposite of what occurred here: cut government spending, cut the size of government, and lower taxes.

After introduction, members of Congress were given no chance to read H.R. 1 before it was brought to the floor; everything was a “rush… urgent … an emergency”. Yet most of the money appropriated will not be spent until 2011, 2012 and beyond. Even so, the bill was rammed through with great haste, dispensing with rules governing the usual path of legislation through the House and Senate. The House/Senate conference bill was not posted gotten to members of Congress until the night of February 12, with no time for them to read the 1100+ pages before it was voted on February 13 by both House and Senate.

And counter to the claims made by AKA in his September 22, 2008 speech in Green Bay, Wisconsin, this bill is full of earmarks, full of pork, and he plans to sign it four days following its passage. There was no transparency and certainly no disinfecting sunlight; there was no public scrutiny; secrecy was the name of the game.

An interesting side-note: the speech by AKA, made in Green Bay, Wisconsin on September 22, 2008, does not show up among the speeches on the AKA/Biden campaign website. Must have accidentally gotten deleted.

Quite obviously, the amount of money that will eventually end up in the hands of AKA’s ACORN is just more of the special interest-driven politics AKA promised to rid us of.

In short, for all his claims, AKA is not to be believed; he is a man who says, “Believe what I say, look not at what I do!” In three short weeks he has shown himself as bad as, if not worse than, his predecessor whom he disparaged relentlessly.

At a time when America needs a strong leader, a strong voice, a man of integrity, it is apparent that AKA is not but an empty suit; a smooth talking con man with great oratory skills.

It is so apparent that one has to ask, “How long can this façade go on before his worshippers finally catch on?”

And how long before the Supreme Court and Congress can no longer ignore the fact that he is a usurper to the Oval Office?

Economist after economist has stated, bluntly, that the so-called “stimulus” package would make things worse, not better, for the American economy. The American people, overwhelmingly, told Congress, “Do not even think about doing this.” Yet Congress did it anyway.

When this country devolves into the inevitable depression that is coming, may the American people (and especially those who voted for AKA) remember who wrote this bill, who sponsored this bill, who supported this bill, and who voted for this bill.

It is the straw that will break the camels back.
